Eric is a trusted friend and leader in my life. Having been a personal witness to his contagious joy and love of the Lord Jesus Christ, his wife, their children, his neighborhood, church, and discipleship, I whole-heartedly recommend Discipleship Defined.
Eric's passion for discipleship comes not simply from the Biblical precedent, which he clearly distills, but also from the life-change that God has produced in him and the many he has influenced (he gave me my first Study Bible), specifically through discipleship. Eric has gained a plethora of wisdom and experience while making disciples in the contexts of U.S. college campus ministry, overseas long-term missions, and local church ministry.
In this book of less than 100 pages, Eric provides a clear, concise, compelling, and most importantly, Biblical framework for making disciples. His framework is free of cultural and generational bias and also leaves an incredible amount of freedom for personal ministry style and contextual application in living out Jesus' call to make disciples. As a college campus minister in the U.S., I will use this book as a trusted resource, as I seek to make disciples that make disciples.
May this book spur you on to define discipleship as Jesus does and make disciple cycles that continue to multiply for generations to come.
Through the obviously evident leading of the Holy Spirit, Eric rightly divides the Word of Truth to dissect the correlation between Word, Relationship, and Ministry to provide a holistic biblical blueprint for how to follow Christ's command. Discipleship Defined has certainly helped me in gaining a clearer understanding of the biblical road map that's needed to effectively execute on Christ's command to make disciples. I highly recommend it to all and it will definitely become a valuable part of the curriculum of Really Dangerous Men.
