Shop with Points Overview

Shop with Points offers customers the ability to pay for purchases at Amazon.com using their rewards from banks or credit card issuers. After completing an easy registration process, customers enrolled in eligible programs may use rewards to pay for an order at Amazon.com in the same way that they would use any other payment method.

Items that currently may not be purchased using Shop with Points include some digital goods, Kindle downloads, Subscribe and Save items, or AmazonFresh. Please also note that currently you may not use one-click to purchase products using Shop with Points. Eligible cards include Discover It, Discover More, Discover Open Road, Discover Motiva, Discover Miles, Discover it Chrome and Discover it Miles.

At this time Discover Cashback Bonus or Miles can only be redeemed for online orders at Amazon.com and are not redeemable over the phone.

Linking your Discover Card

You will need to link your eligible Discover card saved in your Amazon.com wallet to enroll and redeem for Shop with Points. Linking your card to your Amazon.com account allows your Discover Cashback Bonus or Miles to be displayed as one of the options you can use to pay at checkout. During the enrollment process, you will need to provide the information requested and accept terms and conditions.

What should I do if I can't link my card to my Amazon.com account?

If you receive a specific error message while attempting to link your account, please follow the instructions on the error message or contact Discover at 1-800-DISCOVER (1-800-347-2683).

Can I unregister my Discover card from Shop with Points?

Yes. Visit the Shop with Points page in Your Account and click "Disable" next to the card you would like to unregister.

Paying with Cashback Bonus or Miles at Amazon.com

How do I use Cashback Bonus or Miles to pay for an order?

1. Check out through your Shopping Cart.

2. Select your payment method and chose the amount of points you want to apply to total due. You may use your Discover card, an Amazon.com gift card, an Amazon Payments Account or a Promotional Coupon to pay for the remainder of your order if you don’t have enough points to redeem for entire amount of your order.

3. On the Checkout Page, you’ll see the amount of Cashback Bonus or Miles you’re using before you place your order listed as 'Rewards Points' in the Order Summary. There are no additional fees charged for using your Discover Cashback Bonus or Miles at Amazon.com.

How can I tell how much Cashback Bonus or Miles I have while I am shopping at Amazon.com?

Visit the Shop with Points page in Your Account or proceed to checkout and view your balance on the Payments Page.

Why can I no longer see my available Cashback Bonus or Miles at checkout?

Make sure you are still registered. To check your registration status, go to the Shop with Points page in Your Account. After clicking the link, if you still do not see your Discover card account, try to re-register or contact Amazon.com Customer Service at 1-800-201-7575.

How do I contact Discover if I have questions regarding my rewards balance or my Discover card account?

Call Discover at 1-800-DISCOVER (1-800-347-2683) or send a secure email from your online Discover card account.

I have enough Cashback Bonus or Miles to pay for my order. Why do I still need to specify the credit card linked to my rewards program account in my order?

The card and the associated rewards have to be paired to complete the order. The card does not need to be charged, but if you choose an action that increases the cost of your order, such as an upgrade to shipping, the card may be charged.

I don't have enough Cashback Bonus or Miles to pay for my order. How can I pay for the rest of my order?

You can pay for the remainder of your purchase with the Discover card from which the rewards were applied. You also can use Amazon.com gift cards or Amazon Payments Stored Value to pay for the rest of your order. You may not, however, use a credit card from an issuer other than Discover in conjunction with a rewards transaction.

Can I combine points from multiple reward programs to pay for my order?

No, you cannot combine rewards from multiple rewards programs to pay for a single order.

Will my rewards balance be automatically updated on both my Discover.com account and my Amazon.com account once I redeem?

Your updated rewards balance will be reflected upon purchase.

I have a gift card or stored value available in my Amazon.com account. How will this be applied with my Cashback Bonus or Miles?

Amazon.com first applies the Cashback Bonus or Miles you requested and verifies the Discover card. Then the gift card or stored value amount is applied. If there is any balance remaining on the purchase, Amazon.com will then apply the remainder to the Discover card linked to the account.

SHOP WITH POINTS SERVICE TERMS FOR DISCOVER "PAY WITH CASHBACK BONUS OR MILES"

By using Shop with Points with Discover Pay with Cashback Bonus or Miles ("Rewards"), you agree to these Service Terms and the other Amazon.com Conditions of Use. Please review them carefully, together with our Privacy Notice, to understand our practices.

To use your Rewards to purchase eligible items at Amazon.com and any other participating platforms, your eligible program account ("Rewards Account") must be linked to your Amazon.com account through the registration process. If registration has not already been done for you automatically, you may have to self-register through the process described on this page. We reserve the right to restrict your use of Shop with Points or to deregister your Rewards Account from your Amazon.com account at any time in our sole discretion, including when we suspect misuse or fraud.

To enable you to use Shop with Points to purchase eligible items, Amazon Services LLC and its affiliates (collectively, "Amazon") may share information that you have provided to Amazon with Discover Bank and its affiliates (collectively, "Discover") and vice versa. This information sharing allows us to link your Amazon.com account to your Rewards Account and, once registered, Discover may provide Amazon with information about your Rewards Account, including your Rewards balance. We may also share information that you have provided to Amazon with Discover so that Discover can perform its functions with respect to the Shop with Points program, including processing payments made with Rewards.

Certain items at Amazon.com are not eligible (and may not be eligible at any other participating platform) for purchase using Rewards, and these items may change at any time. Rewards may not be used when making purchases with 1-Click. If you do not have enough Rewards to pay for your eligible purchase, you can pay for the remainder with the credit card linked to your Rewards Account, or an Amazon.com Gift Card or Amazon Payments balance. Your Rewards balance will be reduced to reflect the amount of your purchase at the time of your order. Rewards may not currently be combined with other rewards programs to make eligible purchases using Shop with Points at Amazon.com or any other participating platforms.

Returns are subject to Amazon’s returns policy. If Amazon accepts a return for an item you purchased using only Rewards, those Rewards will be credited to your Rewards Account. If Amazon accepts a return for an item you purchased using Rewards and another payment method, Amazon may, in its sole discretion, credit the return to the other payment method before crediting Rewards to your Rewards Account.

Additional Discover Pay with Cashback Bonus or Miles terms and conditions apply and are available at www.discover.com/PaywithCBBTerms. If you have questions regarding your Rewards Account, please contact Discover at 1-800-Discover (1-800-347-2683).
