Don't buy it! I have two and neither camera works at all now, which is a major dissapointment to both kids - they were so excited to receive these for Christmas. My 3 year old had a terrible time using it because she pushed the buttons too frequently, causing the camera to freeze. The only way to un-freeze it was to take out the batteries which is such a pain b/c of the tiny (but long) screws you have to unscrew. After about 4 months, even taking out the screws didn't work to un-freeze it. I can't even put the camera back together now because the plastic screw housing is broken. My 6 year old managed to take a couple of cute pictures with it, but after 6 months it is now totally frozen like her sister's camera. The picture quality is very poor and the camera only takes clearish pictures if you are outdoors or there is very bright light. There has GOT to be a better kids camera out there . . . don't try this one.

While my daughter does enjoy this toy, it does not take great pictures. Color/Light quality is poor. Also does not hold many pictures before you have to download or erase. The screen to view pictures is small. Would not recommend.

My son got this camera for his 3rd birthday. He loved it. However, from an adult standpoint, the camera constantly switched to video mode, the pictures are terrible, the viewing window is way too small, and there is no flash so the pictures barely are viewable anyway. Now, I don't know what happened to it, but it won't turn on, I have replaced the batteries and still nothing. Piece of junk, spend your money trying another brand.

This is the best camera in the world ... as long as you paid $1.99 or less for it. If you paid more than that (like we did), it is pretty much junk. The camera takes photos that are about .2 megapixels (that is, one-fifth of a megapixel), and it is *extremely* sensitive to motion or less-than-perfect lighting conditions (which, since it does not have a flash, is pretty much any time you want to take a photo anywhere other than outside on a brightly lit day). Changing batteries takes about ten minutes because of the amount of tension you have to put on the two small, but very long screws. Worst of all, the shutter button physically broke after my daughter took 35 pictures, and camera is now totally unusable.

I bought this camera after reading lots of 4-5 star positive rating reviews on the internet before Christmas. I was looking for a durable digital camera for my kid, and the rubber, seemingly tumble proof grips sounded great. My kid opened it for Christmas and was incredibly excited. First installing batteries took a bit, as the panel encasing them is incredibly poorly designed. The batteries lasted a very short amount of time (3 hours?). The view screen was super poor, but somehow not as bad as when the pictures were viewed on my computer. Lastly the shutter button popped, and stopped working after 3 days. I promised to repair it for my kid but have never been able to. Customer service for this company seems (no suprise) completely unreachable. I can assure you I will NEVER buy another product from this company after this experience. Simply inexcusable.

For the longest time I thought this thing was just rough on AA batteries. Had a strange occurrence where two rechargeable batteries would not charge at all after being in this camera. I thought maybe it was bad batteries. Just put 4 of my nice, shiny new eneloop batteries in it a few days ago. My daughter complained the camera was already dead and now 3 of the 4 eneloop batteries are completely toast. Won't even register on my LaCrosse charger. Forget the fact that this camera is basically a piece of junk, IT KILLS EXPENSIVE BATTERIES!!! Stay away!

I ordered this on Thanksgiving and it arrived a week later. This is awesome because I live in Japan and that is super quick. I read the reviews prior to buying this and a lot of them were complaining about the picture quality. This is a child's camera, I highly doubt they will whine about the low megapixels. If you want some better images, buy and actual camera for your kid. I bought this for my 5 year old who is interested in photography. I don't mind the low quality images because he doesn't mind either. This camera is perfect for children that accidentally drop things. My son loves it.

I bought this camera for my three year-old for Christmas last year. As mentioned by other reviewers, it is really lacking in all departments. The picture quality is horrible - dark and grainy; there is no flash, so unless you are shooting in very bright light, there's not much of an image; the image display is tiny (my daughter was very disappointed in this part, as she was expecting a nice bright display like my digital camera); she was constantly frustrated as she tried to use it, it is not user-friendly at all, especially for a kid. She used it a few times and it ended up stuck in a toy box for months. Today she found it & wanted to take pictures. The batteries were dead, of course. After 30 minutes of frustration due to poor product design and installing two sets of new batteries...nothing. It is dead. Won't turn on, won't do anything. Thanks so much Discovery Kids for wasting my money and leaving me with an upset, disappointed child. I expected more from this brand. Do not buy this camera at any price!
