Grace and Finn have been married for 15 years and together even longer. Grace thought they would be together forever. Until Finn decided he wanted something, or rather someone else. Starting over isn't something Grace ever thought she would have to do, but here she is. She's back in her home town, spending the summer with her sister and brother in law, just trying to figure her life out.
Jackson Emery is the bad boy of Grace's small town. He's a bit younger than her, and his family has been nothing but trouble. The Emery's have a bad reputation. When Grace and Jackson first interact, he is prickly. But the more Grace gets to know him and really sees him, she can tell he's really a sweet and gentle soul who has just had a rough life. These two come in to each others life at just the right time.
Jackson is a funny guy. I love how he always tells it like it is. He doesn't sugar coat anything to anyone, even Grace. Grace is a character I could relate to in so many ways. I feel like I truly connected with her and her story broke me. I was beyond emotional reading this book. Grace has so much strength. I rooted for her and wanted more than anything for her to find her happiness.
Jackson and Grace were a couple that I wouldn't have put together, but they work. They are so different, but exactly what the other needs. When they say opposites attract, they really mean it. I loved watching both of them change and grow. I think they brought the best out of one another, and really, what more can you ask out of your significant other. I loved both of these characters so much. Grace's sister was amazing also. As well as Jackson's uncle. Both phenomenal secondary characters. Grace's parents I had mixed feelings about, as well as Jackson's dad. They were not bad people, just complicated.
Brittainy C Cherry is a wordsmith. Her story-telling abilities are out of this world and her writing is lyrical and stunning. Every book she's written has evoked feeling from me. Every single one. Disgrace is a story that has so much heart. It's so much more than a romance. And that's what I loved best about it. It's a story of growth, of finding yourself and loving yourself- even your broken parts. This story consumed me. It was heartbreaking, heartwarming, magical and perfect for me. I can't recommend Disgrace enough! A new top favorite of mine!
Brittainy C. Cherry gutted me and then killed me dead with this wonderful heart-wrenching story.
This incredibly talented and outstanding author writes broken characters like no other and I can't express how much I love her books. The Silent Waters was my first read by her and it's one of my all time favorites.
And now she did it again.
Meet Grace - Gracelyn - Harris. She's small town royality and now forced to look reality in the eye - the ugly truth and reality. Her husband walked away from 15 years of marriage and shattered her whole world. She can't cope and move on. Grace has a very low self-esteem, she lost herself and can't find her way back - she doesn't know who she is - 'til she meets Him.
Jackson Emery is a haunted soul. He's the shunned outsider with issues and a lot of baggage. He's a angry young man with a difficult life. Both are broken souls. When they meet they have this crazy insta- connection and their chemistry is through the roof high. But society and family are full of prejudices. They make a HEA nearly immpossibly.
Grace and Jackson have a long way to go, they're " learning the art of letting go and teach me one thing - learning to take time to heal. "
"The almost girl and the monster " . I knew reading Disgrace would hurt, I knew it deep down in my gut and I couldn't wait to get my hands on this book.
Grace and Jackson's story touched me in ways I can't describe, only so much. I started reading and was hooked. I read the book in one sitting, I couldn't put it down - I had to know what happens next - and I loved every word. And now that I'm finished, I'm sitting here, empty and with a major book hangover.
I highly, highly recommend Disgrace and wish I could give more than 5 stars.

Character development in this novel can be defined perfectly. The development in this one book was extraordinarily between almost every. single. character❤️
Jackson is most definitely a new book boyfriend... I just loved him. Everything about him... but I guess we’re always attracted to the bad boys right? 😉 Jackson’s past and present tore me. From his relationships with his parents to his relationship with him self. It was astounding the development found in his character.
Grace, now also has my heart. A girl who struggled with a husband who had major problems that were his own, yet had to struggle her own. She never got to find herself, she was always the image of what her family made her to be. With meeting Jackson she slowly found herself, she realized what she wanted, and who she wanted to be.
Romance has never felt so real, and so very relatable to today. This will touch many people with the different subjects that are within this novel. This novel will steal your heart. Whether it’s with both characters or each one individually. It takes a little piece of it and makes it permanent in your heart.
