Disney presents a charming collection of recipes for children ages 3-7 in their latest It's a Small World series offering. In conjunction with FEEDprojects, Disney presents 26 recipes geared towards introducing kids to the joys of cooking, eating and thinking about the world. The book is broken down into four sections of recipes and is bound to have a few selections that will make even the most finicky eater happy.

The artwork and styling of the book are part of the It's a Small World series in which Disney has partnered with other organizations to provide food, sustenance and other needs across the globe. The artwork was done by Nancy Kubo and was inspired by Mary Blair's iconic style

The recipes are based on traditional fare from different countries. There is also a fun fact with each recipe Enjoy this fact about cheese (I know you will):

"Did you know that cheese sweats? As it ages, the proteins in cheese release moisture. It's all part of the process that makes cheddar and other hard cheeses so flavorful.

I bought this 2 months ago and have tried so far 4 of the recipes with great results. Instructions are easy to follow, actually they are meant for children to cook, my LO is still too small to do it himself but he loved the result of my cooking, it is a good way to add variety and learn with them what people from around the world like to eat.

I bought a copy to review before buying more for my small granddaughters for Christmas. I'm pleased with the variety of recipes and the quality of the photos. I haven't made any of the recipes yet but plan to do so. I'll be buying two more copies!

Bought as a gift for a 5 year old and I am told that she and her mom enjoy the book. I skimmed through it before wrapping it and was very happy with the purchase. It's a unique and clever gift for the kids of today who really don't need or want for much.

Just bought this and looked through the first half pretty well, and just glanced through the second half. My first impression was just that it is so-so; some of the photos appear to be stock photos and don't match the aesthetic of the design of the book, one in particular is badly pixelated, and the editor didn't catch that part of the empanada recipe was incorrectly added to the dish from Thailand. It seems like parts of this book were cobbled together at the last minute.

After going through it a little more extensively, the recipes seem good, and an effort has been made to appeal to a more Western audience (the Indian dish doesn't call for ghee, most recipes call for prepared crusts instead of making them from scratch, the Chinese dish suggests using Italian pasta noodles instead of egg or rice noodles, etc.). I expect busy parents will appreciate these touches. The pictures, facts and recipes seem to get better as the book progresses.

In the end, it's not a bad book, just one with a couple of glaring oversights. And let's be honest, you're probably buying this for a kid who will be more interested in coloring on the pages than attempting the strange Thai/Empanada fusion thing on page 31.

Great book for kids to experiment with cooking and learn more about kids in other countries. My grandaughters are 3 and 5 and it worked will for them with some help from Grandma.
