and we received 2 so far that we found and also got a duplicate which is stated that it should not happen, the pin lots should be gone through much better before shipped
Also, really, If something seems too good to be true- it probably is! These are very low cost pins. They LOOK like real pins and have Disney backstamps, but most of them are 'scrappers' or bootlegs, or otherwise not legit. They vary in color or backstamps from real pins that can be seen in detail on websites about bootleg pins. In a quick search through the online archives, I was able to clearly identify at least six pins (out of 25) from each bag that are known scrappers. They show a pic of the real pin and a pic of the fake with a description of what is different. Guess which one I got?
There were a few more pins that I couldn't find a description of online, I'm not sure what that means. Then there are a few that are not well described online, or the differences are so subtle that it is really impossible to tell if it is authentic or not.
I am not complaining about what I got: for the price, I should have assumed these would not be authentic pins. However, other purchasers should be aware of exactly what they are buying. I question the ethics of buying/selling/trading these pins on the Disney market. I think the seller is REALLY pushing the boundaries of good business by declaring these as "OFFICIAL" Disney trading pins, and "100% tradable in the parks!"
I do think that many of these pins will "pass" and be tradable on the street, especially for kids, who probably don't care where they came from.
However, be warned- these pins are not something you could expect to resell, and they could get called out by a cast member and be refused as fake because, well, they are.
I order the 50 Disney trading pin set and received the exactly same 25 pins in both bags, order said no duplicates but I have two of everything, I am not sure that I would purchase from this person again via Amazon. It is not worth the money. I am very disappointed.
OTOH, my wife likes to take the pins, cut the actual pin off the back, and make jewelry out of them. For that purpose, these work wonderfully well. It takes a keen eye to notice the imperfections, so it passes most of the time. For these kinds of projects, or if you don't care about collecting and trading, it's hard to do worse than this kind of deal.

Very nice pins that my children traded without any problems at all. They all looked just like the ones in the stores they were selling for double or triple the cost.Published on March 3, 2014 by Heather Reath
The pins are not authentic, but you can't expect to find a lot of 50 authentic pins for $25, when most pins on their own run at $7+ at Disneyland. Read morePublished on January 3, 2014 by Rae
