Moana is a girl living in the Polynesian Islands who has always had a strange connection to the ocean surrounding her home. One day, she decides to go out and explore the unknown. This journey leads to meeting demi-god Maui who becomes her side-kick later on in the story. Together these two battle monster after monster, and challenge after challenge until they finally reach their ultimate goal (which you will soon find out about).
One thing that I really like about this book is that it has pictures from the actual movie. Especially if you have not seen Moana, the pictures paint an image in your head. When you see the pictures you also can form a personal relationship to each of the characters. I also liked how the book is very descriptive. Since it is so descriptive, you don’t even need to see the movie after having read the book. The only thing that I disliked was the length of the book. I wished that it could have been longer because I loved being transported to another world.
I would recommend this book to anyone who likes Disney movies and to people who like adventurous movies/books. In this book the adventure is 85% of what happens. I would not recommend this book to someone who does not like animated movies because the characters are animated and there are no real actors.
“The world is a book, and those who don’t travel have only read a page”-Unknown
This represents the story because the people in Moana’s town have not ever crossed the ocean and therefore they have “only read one page.” Moana has finished off the book because she crossed the ocean.
