An excellent buy for fans wanting new Zootopia content.

The book as it arrived is titled Zootopia Comics Collection, with quite a lot of individual comics in addition to a condensed retelling of the movie plot. The new 2d art is good across the board, as you'd expect from a Disney comic featuring cartoon animals, and they don't rely heavily on cinema stills. There are 2 in the book that utilize scenes from the movie, one of which is the DMV scene that takes up 27 pages.

Content wise the book is a solid yes for any fan of Zootopia.

However, the paper quality is between newspaper and comic print level, and not nice glossy like IDW uses. It makes some of the text harder to read- as my 4th & 5th photos show- and the comics have been shrunk down to fit this more digest sized comic compilation than the trade paperback size it would have been better served as. These are somewhat minor quibbles, as the book is good on its own, but it could have been just a little bit better.

Love Zootopia, it stole my heart the day it came out.

I was expecting a graphic novelization of the film, they always do that, but I was so excited to see there were more comics to be had. I want a comic series of these 2, this is the perfect premise for a graphic novel series of just amazing police investigations and mystery adventures. I want it so bad.

The book itself is fairly standard size, like a basic paperback novel. the pages are more like regular book pages instead of the glossy comic pages, so it felt like I was reading one of my old comics, at least to my fingers it did. The only issue is that because of the size some of the images feel cramped on the pages, and the words are a little hard to see, the paper quality plays a part in clarity, and I really want these stories redone on larger glossier pages. Anyway, the first story starts on page 13 and it's a drawn comic novelization of the film, it's only 52 pages, and it really feels rushed, but movie graphic novels usually feel more like summaries of the film anyway.

The other comics are pretty short and simple and had small fact sheets in between. I, at first, was not expecting the fact sheets, but after seeing other Zootopia books it seems the fact sheet stuff is a common theme [probably because this is a buddy cop movie] but I really don't need another fact sheet that I've seen almost everywhere else please and thank you.

Still the short comics were fun, my favorite one was young Judy solving the theft of her families carrot before the big county fair. I would love to know more about Judy, how she was as a kid [during school hours, over the summer, did she have summer jobs, did she do college??], her siblings, how her parents met. I wanna know about Nick and his mom, how Finnick got to where he is [and where he got that sick van dude]. Like I just want more, and these short comics barely gave me enough of a taste of that more.

Please make more [longer] comics of Zootopian adventures. Thank you.

Good comics marred by poor print quality.

It has a lot of stories in it, and the art itself is very good. The movie comic is a very scaled-back version of the story, reminding me of the old Marvel comcis movie adaptations from the 80s.
The main issue is the printing quality. Some pages are almost unreadable due to the grainy, odd print process the publisher used. Were this reprinted with high-quality it'd be a 5 star product easily. I wanted to like it a lot more.

it could have been so much better. the quality of the pages is poor.... newspaper-like, which makes the pictures/colors very dull looking and somewhat unappealing to look at. had i know this, i wouldn't have bought it.

This is a colection of short comics and others. The quality of the images is fairly good. The texture of the paper is a combination of newspaper and old school paper used in comics. The only reason I didnt give it a 5 star rating was that the material overall looks fragile to me.

Not at all what it implies. It's not "Zootopia the graphic novel", it's "Zootopia the comic collection", a seemingly totally random assortment of comics printed in super low quality on basically news paper, including two random scenes from the comic that's made up of screenshots from the movie
