Ironically, it was only because I was unfortunate enough to stumble across a Facebook reference to an essay that Mr. Green posted yesterday, titled, appropriately as regards this book, "Are there too many JFK books to read?" My response to that question is a resounding "YES", especially as that question is exactly the best descriptor of this very book.
You see, within his essay, he references the "review" that he claims "dealt with" my own first book (LBJ: The Mastermind of the JFK Assassination). Well, that book has done very well over the five years since it was first published. Are you beginning to understand the reasons he doesn't like it yet? My book includeed a clear copy of the Altgens 6 photograph which demonstrates that LBJ cannot be seen in the photo taken a few seconds after the first shot was heard, because he had already ducked before that shot. Given that Johnson cannot be seen in that photograph (except by those with unusually vivid imaginations) it is curious that Green disposed of this issue with merely this ridiculous statement: "Except I can see LBJ in the photograph, as can most others" while making no effort whatsoever to explain just where he can be seen. This is so absurd that "you can't make it up." Interestingly, both Lady Bird and Sen. Ralph Yarborouth can clearly be seen and they had NOT reacted at all to the shot -- nor had anyone else, except JFK, who was trying to grab his neck, where he had already been hit (they are both clearly seen riding there next to where LBJ SHOULD have been).
By the way, since CTKA makes no provision on their web site for rebuttals to their more inane, banal and vacuous "reviews", one can access my response to Mr Green's drivel at my own website: "http://lbjmastermind.com/" (see menu entry "Response to CTKA Review"). I felt the lengthy response was necessary in order to correct the numerous misstatements and error-filled "analysis" in which he overlooked much of the material which made the points that he then claimed were overlooked in the book. No book can earn an overall ranking of 4.4 on a 5 point scale after over 200 reviews that can be so scurrilously and speciously denigrated by someone out to torpedo it, evidently because he has some kind of cognitive impairment. My second book, "LBJ: From Mastermind to the Colossus" is similarly rated and it too has many more reviews, and sales, and readers, than Mr. Green's unfortunate entry into this genre. It's just that simple.
Since my books can actually be found in bookstores and libraries, where his will never be -- unless he squirrels a copy in under his coat and leaves it on the shelf -- it must be especially confounding to him to see which books seem to be considered superior by so many people. Maybe if he re-read my first highly successful book AND my sequel book a little more carefully, he might even be able to figure it out??? It seems that there is a segment of the population who will never "get it" and it has to do with the blinders they all seem to wear, apparently to help hide their surplus of hubris. Such a pitiful waste, especially when they then try to portray themselves as successful "writers" as he has repeatedly done. There is a reason that his books have gone unnoticed by discerning people who simply want to read well-written books.
If you, dear reader, care to read these acclaimed books that Mr. Green still doesn't understand, they may be found here:
