About the Author
Mel Henry is a die-hard romantic with a flair for the dramatic. At the age of six, she wrote a children's book based on the true story of the family of rabbits she rescued from her farm pond. It was a contender for a Newbery Award until the board found out she'd actually thrown the rabbits in the pond before said rescue. Since that time, she's written dozens of short stories, passive-aggressive notes, math equations, restaurant reviews, romance novels and, most recently, the groundbreaking how-to manual on suing small town car lots entitled, "You Won't Screw Me Without Buying Me Dinner First!" She was in the running for the Nobel Peace prize until she found out about it and told the committee, "Peace this, B*tches!" while throwing up what can only be described as Polish gang signs. She can be found most often in her war room swilling Absolut and Tweeting like a crazed hermit in solitary confinement. She's devoted to her fans, followers and anyone who takes this bio seriously, as the only part that's true is the sentence about vodka and Twitter. And possibly the passive-aggressive notes.

LIke all relationships there are ups and down. Mel Henry captured the emotion so well. Well done Mel! As for plot twists. Amazing way to switch the tone of the story. I was really not expecting anything like that. I was hard for me emotionally to get through that part, but the story needed it for the AWESOME way the story ended. I stayed up until 1 a.m. to finish this story. I am so glad that I did. I fell asleep happy! I would have to say I teared up a little at the epilogue. Made me so happy. But that's all I can say.
I would recommend this story to anyone who believes in boy bands, love and happy endings!
I did NOT expect the twist in the last half of the book, but am glad for it because it's the twist that kept me up so late. The reality of what occurred, the emotions Carly had, the investigators were right on target.
Mel I'm glad for the way you did the book, I'm not a big fan of romance books, but this is more than about romance..it's about a young girl who has a not so great home life and handles it the best she can, falls in/out of love and how she handles that as well and because of other things how fast she has to grow up emotionally and truly look at her decisions.
Well done, worth reading more than once...great gift as well.
