If you have read the Club Destiny series since book one, then you know that Dylan is an alcoholic widower with 2 children.
Then we have Sarah. Sarah briefly dated Dylan in High School and remained friends with him. Even after the death of his wife.
Sarah has her fair share of grief. Her husband, Paul, committed suicide a few years ago.
To me the book was a little slow going at first. Both are battling feelings, grief and depression. There is a lot of talking inside the head of the character for a few chapters. But when those two get out of their own heads…LOOK OUT!!
This book is no less steamy than any other of the Club Destiny series.
Dylan and Sarah start out rediscovering each other after all the changes life has thrown at them. The chemistry is off the charts.
Dylan has suppressed his dark fantasies for years. His wife was not into that kind of life style. Sarah has never been exposed to the life style, but is deeply interested.
Dylan is offered a job of managing a sex club for Trent Ramsey. Sarah goes with him to talk about details and to check out some other clubs.
When things are pretty much settled with Dylan and Trent. Dylan takes Sarah to Devotion.
Now, I have always loved the M/F/M scenes with Nicole’s books. In this book there is M/M/F/M scene. Christian and Tristian, identical twins!! Ladies you may need a cold shower after this scene.
I am going to stop here. Trust me when I tell you want to read this book. Even if you haven’t read the other 7 books. This book will not disappoint you.
I know that Trent is going to get his own spin off series, so I know this is not the end of all these characters. That takes a lot of sadness of this being the last book in the series away.
Thank you Nicole for yet another awesome read!!
Dylan and Sarah are such well developed characters and both have such a gripping back story. They have a lot more in common than just the fact that they were friends and dated 20 years ago in high school. They have both known loss and tragedy like nobody should ever have to face. For Dylan, it was his wife to cancer; for Sarah it was her husband to suicide. These events have a significant impact on their lives of course, but for Dylan, they send him on a downward spiral of an alcohol fueled depression. For Sarah, it was grief and a bout with her own depression.
As we learn in the prologue, they have a very hot tryst together one night 3 years ago, when Dylan’s wife had been gone for 8 years. Dylan was very emotionally affected by this and they decided that it was just a distraction for both of them since clearly neither of them was in a good place.
They do not see each other again for 3 years until they are at a party. Dylan is finally sober now and Sarah has also made some changes that have helped her heal but they are both still a little broken. Their lives have kind of been derailed by all that has happened to them. They distract each yet again (wink, wink) and rediscover each other only to find together a deep unapologetic passion and love that allows them to be themselves, something they had never fully been able to do. They are a 100% match emotionally and sexually and are seriously sensual and steamy together, so hot & sexy! Alone they are amazing together but add in Christian and Tristan and my-oh- my (fanning myself) that was one of the hottest scenes I have ever read!
I love where there journey takes them and me as the reader. They finally find peace and happiness.
I look forward to the spin-off series with Trent!
5 plus stars to Nicole Edwards for a book that had me at the Note to the Reader! You are a amazing!
Dylan has been around for a while. The angry, bitter, sad man in the background to many other stories. If you read those other stories you know Dylan’s basic story. We don’t know as much about Sarah although she’s also been hanging around in the background of this series. Her story is tragic but her spirit is so darn strong!
I was hoping to learn a bit more about Sarah’s first marriage and that relationship, but I don’t feel it detracted from the story that we only get the basic information. It was enough to help the reader understand what Sarah had been through and why she reacts to certain situations how she does.
There’s a bit of knowing what is coming in this one, but it’s so much fun. The way Dylan and Sarah finally reconnect is just great. There are other “secrets” revealed from the main characters and their family that, as I said, there’s a bit of already knowing. I still really enjoyed how the subjects were handled and the reactions of those involved.
This is said to be the final Club Destiny book, but as is Nicole Edwards’ way she will spin some of the characters off into other established series or even a new series. I know Trent Ramsey is supposed to be getting a story but I’m not sure if it’s part of a whole new series. Also, Sniper 1 Security was mentioned numerous times so I feel we may see some familiar faces over there soon. No matter how things play out, I’ve come to rely on the fact that Ms. Edwards will always have me enjoying the journey.
