I originally purchased this mount because my handlebars were shaped in such a way as to not allow a secure mount on them. Now with 2 years of experience using this mount, I can say that it's much better than any handlebar mount. Busch and Muller headlight beam patterns are optimized for a fork crown mount (lower to the road than the handlebars), so this way the beam pattern appears just as the engineers intended. The fork crown mounted headlight profile looks intentional, not like an afterthought as it looks on the handlebars. It leaves your handlebars clear for whatever else you want to put on them, like speedometers, hands, etc.
To install, this mount does require you to remove your front brake, if your bike has rim brakes, and sandwich the mount between the brake and fork crown. Adjustment is somewhat more involved than a handlebar light mount, but once you get it dialed in and tightened down, it won't move. It provides a very secure platform for your Busch and Muller light. Highly recommended for every bike.
