In the over 100 examples I’ve filmed of people accessing their “councils” they report wise teachers who don’t “pass judgment” per se, but act as ombudsmen, like professors conducting a doctoral thesis; asking pointed questions about what a person learned during their lifetime versus what they said they’d planned to learn.
Newton observed people report “two visits” to their council, one prior to incarnation, a kind of “preproduction meeting” where individuals go over what they have in mind or planned to learn, then a “return visit” after the lifetime, where they experience a “past life review” of what they did or did not accomplish.
During the "life review" people report they experience first-hand all the good or bad they did in their previous lifetime. This can be disconcerting for some, making the experience feel like a “courtroom” where they’re being judged. All those in attendance report seeing them experience the pain, suffering or trauma they inflicted upon others. People report experiencing these events first hand, while the council – sometimes an entire auditorium of participants – watches the person squirm for the mistakes they’ve made. In essence, it is a “judgement day” as the person experiencing the life review gets the benefit of seeing how these events were part of a person’s overall journey over many lifetimes.
It could include events that had a genesis in a previous lifetime, a story point being paid off in this one – or for some to realize events had been “requested” by others asking for help. In these “past life reviews” one could argue that it’s akin to experiencing “hell” because the person feels the pain and trauma and suffering they inflicted, but from the perspective of their victims. But this book isn’t about judgments.
I was more interested in exploring and demonstrating “everyone has a council” or that “anyone can visit their council.” One doesn’t have to have a special ticket, doesn’t have to have a near death experience to get in – doing simple guided meditation can allow access to one’s council.
It’s easier for a person to visit their council with the benefit of a hypnotherapy session; in the multi-hour sessions done by Newton Institute therapists, often include visits to their “council” for advice that can help them on their journey. But people who can meditate, visualize or comment on things in their minds, are capable of visiting their councils as well. Hypnosis is not required, but helps.
It’s not opinion, theory or belief people visit their councils – in this experiment, the majority of people had never visited their council before. (The documentaries "Flipside" and "Hacking The Afterlife" Films both include trips to a council.. (available on Gaia)
In this book you will read about various people chatting with their councils. The first part includes people not aware councils exist, the second part people who asked to access their councils, the third part is a compendium of previous visits from all my books. Praise for FLIPSIDE ”"Richard has written a terrific book." Robert Thurman "The kind of book where once you have read it, you will no longer be able to see the world in the same way again.” Gary Schwartz PhD. "Mind bending information. But when you know, you know." Robert Towne, writer/director.

About the author

Writer/Director/Author Richard is an award winning filmmaker, who has written and/or directed 8 theatrical features, and a number of documentaries. His first book, "Flipside: A Tourist's Guide on How to Navigate the Afterlife" went to #1 twice at Amazon in all its genres. The book is based on transcripts of a documentary he made which is available at Amazon (Flipside: A Journey Into the Afterlife) and Gaiam TV. His books "It's a Wonderful Afterlife" volumes one and two expands the research into the afterlife from Michael Newton's work, to include interviews with a number of scientists in the field of consciousness, including Dr. Bruce Greyson, Dr. Mario Beauregard, and Gary Schwartz Phd. He also examines near death experiences and compares their accounts to similar ones during between life sessions (the technique used by Michael Newton that allows people to access the between lives realm, or LBLs) and other examples (OBEs) where people may have lost their ability to think normally, but are having the same experiences. In "Hacking the Afterlife" he interviews mediums and explores "interviewing people no longer on the planet." As Gary Schwartz put it after reading "Flipside" “Inspiring, well written and entertaining. The kind of book where once you have read it, you will no longer be able to see the world in the same way again.”

pack and may seem way too fantastical at first.
I think between Covid and the overall crisis in the world, I was drawn to Near Death Experience youtube channels. The consistency of the stories people tell out of their bodies was too powerful to ignore and I found solace in that. I watched a daily video on the subject for months.
That ultimately let me to Rich Martini's MartiniZone videos through random video suggestions by youtube which led me to Michael Newton. It all made sense. Life - that is.
Since August, I have read all of the Newton books, all of Rich Martinis books, and countless videos on people being able to access past lives and their councils and spirit guides.
I truly feel those who are meant to find this work and give it an earnest listen will find it - maybe even through this book review.
The work in this field is the most scientific proof of the existence of a soul and makes the most consistent and scientific sense of any search for understanding about our purpose that I have ever experienced.
The way Martini is presenting it and the questions he asks of council and guides are brilliant yet light hearted at times. I think work like this book will be looked upon as a portal for the masses into an age of englightenment that may ulitmately help save humanity.
That sounds overly ponderous even writing it.
I recommend Journey of Souls to people to go along with this book - perhaps even reading it first. It is the compilation of case studies by psychologist Michael Newston -- who had a client spontaneously access past lives and their spirit guides in a session. Being an atheist/skeptic/scientist, Newton tried to disprove what he was hearing yet the more he tried to disprove it, the more consistent the stories came via subsequent sessions. He dropped his regular practice and dedicated decades to perfecting the technique with thousands of clients, accessing past lives and lives in between lives. He worked quietly and scientifically before waiting many years to finally share his case studies with the world.
To experience it is to believe it as well -- find a Newton trained therapist such at Scott Detamble - who is featured in this book. He is accessible via zoom worldwide.
If you've ever wondered why you are where you are...this book is worth checking out.
My favorite parts are a conversation with an alien who lives under water on Earth and a conversation with Jesus ending with Jesus’ famous quote, “Any time dude!”
I’ve found all Rich’s books to be entertaining and enlightening, but this one has focus on a new subject that we should be trying to find in our own lives.
