First of all, I use these cups daily for brushing my teeth. I hate the smaller 3 oz. cups because it is just too small and hardly hold enough water, you end up having to fill it up with more water. The 3 oz. cups once filled with water also gets soggy very fast to the point that you have to throw it away or have to use a new cup. This 5 oz. cup lasts a long time. It is just the right size for drinking water and my 15 mo. old grandson just loves it. If you give him one of this cup filled with water, you can forget about getting it back from him before he makes a mess of himself. Thirdly, I found a lot of uses with these cups: I can fill it with ammonia, then drop my sterling or gold jeweleries in it and after 10-15 minutes they will look brand new; I can use it for cooking, adding chicken seasoning, corn starch, soy sauce and water to make a gravy for my stir fries; I can fill it with hydrogen peroxide then dump my tooth guard (or dentures for others) in it to clean; I can add bleach in it if I need to clean anything including clothing. This cup can hold almost anything (note: you do have to be careful if you use it for any chemicals such as bleach or ammonia; you also should never mix bleach and ammonia together because it will result in the forming poisonous gas. If I need a small bowl to hold any sauce like tartar sauce or ketchup, I just cut off the top part of the cup and whatever left is a disposable sauce bowl. In short, the uses if it can be numerous. We used to be able just buy a bunch of these cups as cheap as 99 cents a box in Target but lately we could not find anybody selling it until we found it here in Amazon. We immediately ordered and received 15 boxes of it. Hopefully this will last a while. Now if Amazon can start selling dispenser for it, that will be fantastic because we can surely use one.

We use Dixie cups for just a couple things. Like many other people, we use them in the bathroom for mouthwash. They are great for distributing snacky things like trail mix to the little ones. And I keep some in a zip bag in the car for when we are sharing a juice or Gatorade when we are on the road. (yes, we are frugal and always carry a cooler with drinks and snacks so we don't have to pay a buck or more for water! It also saves money when we pick up food on-the-go. Instead of buying 5 individual drinks, we just reach into the cooler for our much-cheaper bottles of water, juice, lemonade, etc.

Several members of our family have medication schedules where we have to give them 4-5 meds at a time. We had been putting all of the pills in the lid of one of the pill bottles and giving it to them to take. Sometimes that means we've accidentally spilled the contents of the pill bottle without the lid, while waiting for the meds to be taken and the lid put back on. So recently we started putting the meds in a Dixie cup (hospitals distribute meds in a little cup sometimes). This way we can put the lids all back on right away, and the one taking the meds can take time to get them down.

The 3-oz Dixie cups are also great, but we prefer these 5-oz ones because they can be used for more things. You really can't go wrong with Dixie cups, though. There's a reason they've been around for so long. They are good quality and very handy, especially for our new use for them by distributing meds in them. Wish we'd thought of it a long time ago.
