First off, I did not get what is pictured above or on "TableTop" with Wil Wheaton -I really wish I had, it looks nicer. Instead of a nice three dimensional board to move the pieces around, I received a small flat one-sided piece of cardboard with some wide spaces. It gets the job done, but it doesn't look NEARLY as nice. It's disappointing when the product picture looks so nice and what you get feels so flimsy. In place of that 3D board, the manufacturer has included a plastic black tray with tons of extra room... Perfect for all the extra expansion cards they'd like you to spend more money on. It's enough that it feels like you're missing pieces, but in reality it's a built-in upsell.

The game itself is pretty fun, but I assure you with a group of 4-5 players, you will run out of image cards and have to reshuffle the deck to re-use them. When you start seeing the same pictures on the table more than once, a lot of the whimsy really fades fast. If you're willing to invest in the expansions, which provide an additional 84 cards each, you'll get much more mileage out of the game before that happens. As is, it felt very short on content from the very first playthrough.

I would still suggest this game for families, and for adults as well. But know that you may be getting something a lot more plain looking than what is pictured, and you may need to invest another $20-40 bucks in expansions before it feels like you have everything it was supposed to come with.

If this were a more complicated game, with different card types, or lots of pieces, I would be more understanding. But they got cheap on the product, there's really only one type of content, and they're clearly more interested in selling you more of it, rather than giving you a complete product. $40-50 isn't unheard of for a complete, high quality game, and if that's what the manufacturer wanted from consumers, they should have included a lot more cards, and the nicer board pictured in the product listing -instead, they chose to sell you half a product at what only seems like a good deal until you notice how little there is.

The game play is great simple and fun. The art in Dixit, aides your imagination. The deception element can work extremely well or not so well it depends on how well you know the people you are playing with. Sadly the fun of the game was severely dampened, because I did not get in the box what I expected. The picture upon which I decided to purchased the product, promised that I was going to get a beautiful center piece that tracks a players score, instead I find I get a flat, uninspiring, piece of score board compared. I was told that the cover art may vary, but not that the insides would. Now I no longer trust Amazon.

Meet Dixit. It's like apples to apples, only with surrealist illustrations instead of word/phrase cards. The game mechanics are very simple to A2A: one player chooses a hint, all players play a card that they think matches that hint, and then players vote on which card the active player laid down. Extremely simple, loads of fun.

My wife has an unfair advantage because she's played with the base set for years and knows every single card. Despite this, I manage to beat her now and again. Best with five or six players -- I'd be interested in the Odyssey expansion that adds more players and more cards.

Overall, Dixit is fun, entertaining, and a twist on a classic board game. Hopefully the expansions will mix it up and keep things new and fresh for many plays to come! I'd recommend it for both adults and kids, though younger kids may have difficult giving good hints. There really is a little bit of a learning curve to giving a hint that's broad enough that people can play cards related to it, but obscure enough that your card won't be guessed right off the bat.

I receive the Dixit game, as expected. And we LOVE the game. People in our family who normally will not play board games have so far played this TWICE with us, and we've only had the game for one month. Wonderful game that appeals to everyone and is very easy for a group to pick up an play for the first time. I was disappointed that the game I received did not match the picture. What is shown is an older version. What I received is a new one with the game board being a separate fold-out piece. It's not part of the box as shown. I would have liked the product I received to match the picture. Overall, still happy with my purchase.

This is a fun and humorous game to play when everyone is about equally acquainted with each other, however it becomes more of a blind game of random guesses in a group of strangers. It is also needs to be played with more creative-minded people who aren't tied to literal thinking. It is perfect as a wind-down game at the end of boardgame night after all the heavy strategy games, or for multi-tasking over, but not particularly mentally trying. For all these reasons, it is more context-dependent than the average boardgame. It has Beautiful artwork, but the initial card set definitely needs to expanded upon with the expansions for replayability. Theoretically good for all ages.

The artwork in this game is beautiful. We love this game. If you get this game, get an expansion or two with it. You will go through these cards quickly and bore with these easily. It is a great game to add to your collection, but you will quickly need that expansion.

The art in Dixit games is wonderful. Very imaginative and beautiful. The game itself is easy to learn and to teach. I find non-gamers love this game, and it's a good replacement for Apples to Apples (which I am thoroughly and completely sick of). I personally only play this game with non-gamers, as I like more intense, involved games, but it's never a bad game to introduce and is great for getting to know new friends. It can get very old quickly if you don't have expansions, so I highly recommend expanding the game. I also recommend not playing with the same people over and over if you don't have expansions to go with it.

I love this game!! It's great for parties and fun for both adults and kids. The cards are heavy stock and good quality. The images are surreal and people will continually find new interpretations and details. 2 weeks after receiving this game I bought an expansion.

I took off one star because the game isn't the same as the picture. The older version of the game is what is in the picture. I received the newer version that doesn't have the 3-D board. Its a cardboard piece that you use to track the score and organize the cards that are in play. It doesn't make the game any less fun, but I was really excited about the 3-D board.

Great game for as young as 6 to even more fun as adult game. We just got this and have played it now with 3 to 6 players and a variety of friends and age groups. Everyone loves it. It is definitely not your normal game. No one really even cares about the scoring, they just want to keep playing rounds. The only down side is that after playing just once it is totally obvious you need more cards. Thus the expansion packs but man, they cost as much or more than the game and really it ahould come with more to begin with. Love it.
