Elementary Teacher, Michelle has suffered a great deal of pain in her life. So she is NOT looking for another unreliable man in her life.
Preston Hall is a veterinarian. He used to work for the rich in the city, but now he’s left (on bad terms with his father) and moved back to their hometown so he can take of his grandfather’s veterinarian business.
When the two meet, both with wounded souls, they help each other to heal.
You will discover each of their sad stories, but the best part is when they begin to heal and fall in love with one another.
However, my fav part is the dressing of road kill to remind people to SLOW DOWN and PAY ATTENTION when driving through a school zone. Michelle knows this all too well. Her daughter will never walk again because of a speeding driver. So Michelle sneaks out at night and dresses up the road kill so people will slow down and pay attention to the roadkill. And hopefully, they will SLOW DOWN for the children!
There is some sexual content when they finally get it on. So be prepared!
Roses with Thorns is a sweet story, reminding the reader that there doesn't have to be conflict and angst in it to make it a good read. I was pleased to see the taboo subject of a relationship age gap addressed in a way that was thoughtful and romantic. Robbie and Jordan loved each other deeply and held onto that love, never faltering. He treated her with respect, never letting his strong feelings take over, not just because of the implications, but because he loved her that much. Robbie stepped back and let her blossom into a woman, giving her years of space to grow as a human being, willing to risk losing her in the process...because she was worth it. Although, both of their hearts knew what they wanted early on, it was like the saying, "If you love something, set it free..." And, that's exactly what he did...but she didn't come back,
she never left.
Lyssa Layne wrote a wonderful story that shows that life is too short to not go after what will make your heart beat the strongest.
This is a stand-alone, but I highly recommend reading the heart-felt conclusion to this story in her book, Until You Fall in Love, in the Cowboy, Mine Boxed Set.
Who doesn't love a big strong cowboy? I do, that is for sure. Seven amazing love stories to whisk you away to romance.
Don't miss out on this incredible set!!
