Very Helpful! Very Practical! Got a lot out of this book and felt the author was sincere in his desire to help others succeed. Got a lot out of his personal stories. His writing was simple and to the point and he impressed me with his humbleness. Don't usually get much out of these types of books but I read this one cover to cover.... pretty much a first. Thanks David, from Glenn

I enjoyed reading this book. I used lot of the ideas from this book in my speech and they were all well received by audience. After reading this book, I realized that the only way I can better in professional presentation is to practice, practice & practice. What better place to try and fail than Toastmasters. So, I joined local ToastMasters club and tried out these ideas. I failed miserably on some sessions; hey, it was not life threatening and much better option than failing in front of my boss.

I really liked this book!! It was great motivation to continue studying the best ways to reach an audience with a sense of humor. I want to do stand up comedy and this gave me lots of tips I have already started using to prep for my first time performing in the near future! Thank you David for writing this well written hilarious book.

This book is pretty well written in terms of content, but a little lacking on "writing funny" given the topic of the book. Has great insights and pointed advice on how one could add humor in their talks. Was a great quick read. Thanks to David Nihill for this book

This was a great joy to read. I never intend to do stand-up comedy but I do aspire to break out of my dullness. I will prove I CAN teach an old fart new tricks! Thanks, Irish! !

This book has a few great rules to follow to improve your delivery when speaking publicly HOWEVER I'm only giving 1 star (zero if I could) because I was completely appalled when the author actually recommended getting your jokes from reddit, tumblr, twitter etc & "just change the wording a little bit" to make it your own. That's not making the joke your own. That's PLAGIARISM!!! I was shocked to read that the author would encourage something so absolutely shameful & dishonorable. As someone who has had my writing/jokes stolen from me from classmates from those exact sites, I felt the need to post this review & ask that you please not support this guy. Seriously, that's messed up. Imagine how you would feel if someone else stole something you worked hard to create. NOT COOL.

It's not nearly a good enough book to be worth supporting someone who condones something as disgusting as plagiarism.
Really, if you were to read Influence + Pre-suasion (separate books) by Robert C, you would get all of the same tips (things are funnier/more impactful in the rule of 3, practice makes perfect etc) without supporting someone who encourages stealing other peoples writing.

Actually, a far superior book would be "Steal Like An Artist" which in hindsight, is an ironic suggestion but despite the misleading title, it does NOT encourage stealing someone else's material and tweaking it to "make it your own"
You should be ashamed of yourself for recommending that aspiring writers steal as opposed to thinking for themselves. Shame on you Nihill!!

This book is hilarious, full of stories, and packed with useful information. I'd recommend this to anyone trying to get better at public speaking or just being funny in general.
The book is filled with stories that illustrate his points. Then when you get to the end, he gives you a link to a page full of video clips to help you see what he's talking about in action. He also sums the book up for you in the end with his short 80 tips. (And here I was highlighting like a mad man.) Best of all, he invites all who buy this book into a private Facebook group where members can upload and help critique each other's presentations. With all these added bonuses, this book is more than just a book, it's an entire class! He could have charged $50-$100 or more and it still would have been a killer deal.
