Gives an old PlayStation 2 a new lease on life!

Bought for my PlayStation 2 Slim. Hooked it right up to my Seiki 50 inch tv, and gave my PS2 games a new lease on life. While it doesn't add polygons or smooth textures,, it does get rid of all the fuzziness and blurriness in the graphics. In game text is now often perfectly legible and understandable, and Castlevania: Curse of Darkness has never looked better, in particular.

In case you are wondering, as all PlayStation Component Cables are not created equal, this cable is for HDTV's that have a newer Y-P/b-P/r component input-- this will not work with any other kind of Component ports! So check before you buy!

I cannot explain why others shadow effects or found the quality lacking. If I would have found those comments prior, I probably would have never purchased this. However, I did buy them and had no problem whatsoever with the product. Hooked up just fine and does a good job with playing my PS3 games and playing DVDs. Even on regular DVDs (opposed to Blu-ray), I believe the quality is enhanced because PS3 will up-scale the display. If not, it is a nice "placebo effect" that I can live with. In short, I am extremely happy with this and would not choose to spend the additional money to get pricier cables if I had to make this purchase again.

Works OK but we ordered the wrong cable

We tested this product with a small HDTV unit. We must be missing something as my son figured out you need to do something in the PS3 menu to get it work. Would have been good to have some directions for this item. This item does NOT include a yellow RCA connector so it will only work with an HDTV, not an analog tv.

Bought this because it was the cheapest component cables for PS3. What do you know, the quality simply is not good. These cables gave a soft shadow effect of the image while the picture was clearly HD it was a nagging problem. The shadowing was very apparent using the XMB in game while the white text across the black background was almost unreadable. I suggest the official Sony PS3 cables or perhaps Monster cables i notice a very clear difference and they are defiantly worth the extra 10 bucks.
