Nipple clamps are part of the BDSM scene and are definitely NOT for everyone. These clamps are of the clover clamp variety, which are also known as Japanese clamps (I'm told that they are popular in Japanese porn). Now, unlike tweezer or bull-nozed clamps, these are *NOT* adjustable, but always provide the maximum intensity! Also, they are heavier. As such, if you are just beginning with nipple clamps, you really should consider beginning with an adjustable type clamp.

Just so you know, the actual clamping part of the clover clamps is rubberized, to provide a modicum of comfort. Also, the chain that connects the clamps is both decorative and functional, allowing either party to play with the nipples during the encounter.

A word of warning, part of the pain or sensitivity that nipple clamps cause comes from the restricting of blood flow to the nipples, so they should not be left on too long. Also, when they are removed, the pain can be worse than when they were applied, so be ready.

But, that said, used correctly these clamps can be an exciting and attractive part of your bedroom jewelry ensemble, adding increased depth to your sexual play. Clover clamps look very exotic, and quite erotic, so if you want to move up a step in your nipple play, then consider clover clamps!

I'm enjoying these clover clamps immensely...they're a major improvement over past experiences with other nipple clamp designs. These do exactly what they're supposed to: they grip, and they don't let go. Unlike some other styles of clamps (yes, you over there with the screws), they can take a bit of a tug on the chain without coming off the nipple, and the length of the chain is about right for gripping with your teeth, if you're playing solo.

Pinch strength: they are strong. I personally don't find them excessively, stupendously strong, but my view of "not too much" may skew a bit to the left of someone who's not (yet) a confirmed masochistic. If you're someone looking to buy these for yourself because you found other clamp styles a bit lacking in the "oomph" department, I'm preaching to the choir. You should get these, already. They're worth having in your toy chest.

If, however, gently-applied clothespins make you or your playmate break out in a sweat, you should probably stick with the aforementioned clothespins and save your money. There is no shame in improvising with household items. Everyone does it. And I STILL like clothespins. ...I just happen to like these puppies more.

Things to know... Like any nipple clamps, you don't want to leave these on for too long. This is both for safety reasons (blood circulation is important), and practical ones. With clover-style nipple clamps, the rubber traction pads make an imprint in the skin, and they continue to adhere a bit, after you squeeze the clamp open. The longer they're on, the more work is involved in disengaging them, which might distract from the wearer's sensory experience, on removal. ...

This is a very well made and sturdy set. The only downside is you cannot adjust the pressure. If you are looking for a clamp with a strong amount of pressure then I would recommend these to you but I wouldn't recommend these for a light beginner.

I should have read the reviews first, but I have had good experiences with other Doc Johnson products. The clearly mixed reviews here tell me that either the positive reviews are not from actual users or that there is quite a bit of variability in the product.

The set I got have so much interference between the chain and the mechanism that they won't hold on with the slightest pull. Removing the chain and substituting something thin enough not to interfere with the mechanism doesn't help much as the spring isn't strong enough to start with and the clamps still pull off easily. I have used other clover clamps that took a tremendous amount of pull, gripped tighter and tighter, and were frankly excruciating. These just barely tickle.

These clover clamps are useful only as jewelry, or for display. Buy another brand.

I was expecting something similar to the last pair of clover clamps I had that got lost in a move, but instead of buying the same pair, I thought I'd save some money and buy these. Well, these are less expensive for a reason; they're cheaply made. Now, they work okay, but they're not great. The metal is thin and easily bendable and the bottom arms of the clamp are too long so that when you squeeze to open them, the arms hit the link of the chain connected to the bottom. If you're using these on someone with small nipples, it probably won't bother you, but for average to larger nipples, you have to wiggle the arms and the link to open them wide enough to get on. The other disappointing thing is that they don't work like other clover/butterfly clamps. The fun of clover clamps is that when you tug on them, they don't come off, they just pull tighter. These are so poorly made, they don't do that, they just pull right off. They look nice hanging on the wall and work okay as light clamps if you don't tug or put weight on them, but for heavy play, spend your money on a more expensive, well-made pair that will last you a long time.
