A short and sweet trip back to Shell Cove for Christmas.
In a Doctor for Christmas, we go back to Shell Cove to spend the hours before the holy day with two people who are part of the background fabric of this series. Zari is the wife of Aron Walters, brother of the heroine Ava in book 1, Chasing Ava. We sort of go back in time to see how Zari and Aron got together.
This is a sweet romance, but oh so appropriate. This story, like the others in the series is at times really funny, and yet you feel the heartbreak of the characters. Zari is an elementary school teacher who has wagered her last paycheck of the year on the promise that she will have a date for Christmas dinner. Unfortunately, our girl promises a doctor for the dinner table, and oh the trouble that causes.
This was a fun quick trip. I'm already knee deep in my reviews for Chasing Ava and Convincing Lina; but it was fun to see the characters of the other books mentioned. Looking forward to my next visit to Shell Cove already. I suspect I'll see Zari's sister Tabia again. That girl has some lessons to learn.
