Beyond that the book has an odd language when it comes to describing sex scenes. Apparently because the male protagonist is a gynecologist he thinks so when it comes to having sex (?). At the moment of seeing the h, the H is already having lustful thoughts and the day after she starts working as a nanny for him, he kisses her and observe her thinking about her body and her ability carrying to term a pregnancy (?).
As a minor detail: the name of the little girl "Precious" (who gives that name to a child?) distracted me throughout the whole reading because it brought to my mind the character of "Gollum" from " The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, The Two Towers, The Return of the King ", who named "Precious" his ring...
In short, when I finished reading the book I was blinking, and thinking that I was lucky for not having paid for this strange book.
My few critiques of the story: sometimes, the sex scenes seemed misplaced, and I cringed. I think there are two scenes in the story where Erik and Michelle made love (SPOILERS!!!) when he was upset over Cassie, his dead wife, and I just remember, cringing and skipping them. One had to do with after he found out about her father and doubted Michelle, and while it was supposed to be a raw, heart-wrenching scene, I just can't see any woman having an orgasm after learning (during sex) that her parent is responsible for such a tragedy. I found that a bit unrealistic.
At first glance of this novel I immediately thought this was going to be some far-fetched fantasy of a helpless woman who is saved from poverty by falling in love with a rich billionaire. However, from reading page one all the way to the end this story was so much more. It definitely captured the realistic narrative of an educated woman who was just down on her luck and unknowingly captured the opportunity of a lifetime. Michelle didn’t always have it easy growing up, she experienced a lot of hardships in her life and just when she thought things were going smoothly she ends up back at square one. After ending up at the Lacrosse home, she now has an opportunity to get back on her feet again not expecting a relationship to form between her and Erik as well as his precious daughter. These were two characters that had dealt with a great deal of heartache and upon meeting each other were able to heal together and move forward. The building of the relationship between our two main characters was enough to keep me interested in this read. But the best parts don’t stop here. The Doctor’s Secret Bride was full of many twist, turns, and oh my goodness are they going to make it. There are times you may laugh, cry, and yell while going through this read but you will enjoy every minute of it. Officially this book is one of my all-time favorites now.
This book is about, Michelle who has interviewed for a nanny position to look after a wealthy Doctor's daughter. The Doctor - Erik, is a widower and hasn't really moved on in the 2 yrs since he's wife's passing. Michelle was in the Human Resources profession, however, due to her companies downsizing she lost her job and was down on her luck. She works at a local teen community center and helps the kids with homework, advice, anything they may need.
We find out that the Erik's wife was killed in an accident involving a drunk driver. We also find out that Michelle's Dad was a drunk and very abusing towards her and her brother, and she instantly thinks it might have been him who killed the Erik's wife.
Michelle grew up on the wrong side of the tracks basically, while Erik always had a silver spoon in his mouth.
I didn't like how Erik wanted to keep their relationship a secret simply due to the fact the reporters would have a field day with it. I think if he truly loved her he wouldn't have kept their relationship a secret. However, Michelle was fine with not sharing their love for the public. I didn't like that it was a big secret.
Michelle & Erik do seem to be a great match together, however, secret's and not sharing information can help and also hurt one another.
I was hoping Michelle punched Bridget for her comments but it was a good thing she didn't. Instead, Michelle used words to put Bridget in her place and knock her back a few pegs.
The person who killed caddie wasn't a shock to me but the twist of who he really is was interesting. I didn't see it coming with that type of twist.
This is the first book I've read by this author and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Eric and Michelle end up falling in love and he secretly marries her. But when I t turns out that Michelle's father was that drunk, Eric punishes her by having rough sex and leaves her. ...
There's a lot of build up and a lot of love and a few heart stopping moments. It makes the story
I like Erik and Michelle little story of poor nanny and rich doctor ...a tad bit predictable but enjoyable...lots of twists and turns which was doing my head in at one point, but I still loved it. The author was a bit clinical with the sex scenes...had me sighing in annoyance at times. Glad to read of a black woman that's not curvy with thick thighs (I have nothing against them)...but some of us are skinny you know...with narrow hips and all that...LOL. I will give book 2 a read.
The nanny cries at the drop of the Hat and there is no reason for it. The housekeeper Mrs Hayes has enough clout to get the agency to drop the older woman and send Michelle.
How did she even know where Michelle temped they met a month ago on lunch and she was temping at an office at that time ...
The rest of the book might be great but there has to be some coherence to the plot I gave up at 50 pages :(
An easy to read story with a predictable ending with some unexpected twists and turns.
Another excellent kindle freebie.
