“a unique style, impossible to mistake for anything else” –Ella DKay, AltStar Magazine
“Vaughn Belak‘s artistic creations draw you in with a luminous, large-eyed gaze, spatters of shadow and light creating an alluring blend of fae mischief and gothic gloom…Dodging Knives and Throwing Bullets, will give art fans a close look at not just Belak’s art, but also the mind of the artist.” –Ed Grabianowski, Gothic.net
“Vaughn Belak battles the demons of drug addiction, over indulgence of alcohol and personal pain daily, yet uses them to motivate and inspire his artwork, that, just like its artist, paints a vision of melancholy, morose but more than its share of whimsy” –Jodie Thomas, DStripped
“dark and cute at the same time...and badass every step of the way.” –Sär, Cvlt Nation
“killer artist...rarely do we see art have a message and a meaning--art with a foundation and rage” –Jim Phoenix, Bazowie Magazine
“alt ladies and iconic geek characters as an escape from his own darkness” –Zelda, GeekyFreaky
“It’s not every day an artist can make you feel nostalgic of imagery you love to see. Belak’s work takes you there!” –David Stoupakis, artist
“beautiful paintings” –Bernard Van Isacker, Side-Line
“a sophisticated feel and a tempting style that makes you want to sit down and survey each line, not so much to memorize it, but to discover every stroke involved in their brilliant expression of the beauty of the dark arts.” –Sapphire Phoenix, ILoveTheDevil.com

What can I say about Vaughn that would make people really get how great this book is? He's an inspirational and cordial gentleman in a world of neigh sayers and bs artists. His work shows that through keeping it true to how he sees what he wants to put out. I'm sure his place is littered with sketches, but once it gets to the painting, he has an exceptional eye for light source, with a maintenance on the style that he wishes to do.
Grabbing this book isn't just a good idea if you like interesting art, it's necessary.
