Lee Greenwood is a personal hero of mine. When I heard about his trip to ground zero of the 9/11 attack and he just spontaneously started to sing "Proud to be An American" I teared up a bit.

I saw him on CNN and he said that he had not planned on singing but was so overcome by emotion while at the scene that he knew it was the right thing to do. I'm just glad he had his guitar with him even though he wasn't planning on singing. That is what you call a lucky break.

I'm sure some of you small-minded people might question why he brought his guitar if he wasn't planning on singing, but I would call that a bunch of un-American baloney. Lee Greenwood would never take a cheap opportunity like that to further his own station. I'm not gonna listen to anyone who alleges it. And yes, there have been a lot of people who've said it, but that doesn't make it true.

I love his look and American flag jackets and two-day's worth of stubble will always be in fashion. It might hurt to kiss him, but he ain't ever asked me to do that, so it's sort of a moot point.

I would ask him to embrace his thinning hairline a little bit more.

I'm seventy years old, spent over three years serving my country. Took three bullets, and thanks to God, none of them did major damage. I start with that introduction to me so that you will realize I have a hard bias. Lee Greenwood is someone I look up to. His book makes it quite clear that he loves his country, and also makes it clear that he is a Christian who has a close walk with the Lord. His book gives hope for our country, especially now. It was a comfort to me, as his song "God Bless The USA" has been for years. If that's the way you believe, this is your book. Does God Still Bless the U.S.A.?

I like everyone have followed Lee Greenwood since he started singing God Bless America..I enjoyed reading about a man who worked hard all his life and has had sucessess. I've been reading history and agree we need to get back to God in our lives. If he writes another one I'll gladly read it as well.

Lee greenwood lives next door to an old friend of mine. Lee is the real deal. He is a born again patriot and his book is every bit as inspiring as his song, "God Bless the USA" , which he is so famous for. The 30-day prayer guide at the end of the book is what this country needs. Read it! You'll love it!

Lee Greenwood does a good job capturing the essence of America's culture from a historical perspective and from his personal history. I enjoyed it. It's a good read with plenty of reminders as to who we are as Americans (US Citizens).

The song "God Bless the USA" Moved me as much as it did any American. My most controversial use of the song was back when serving as a Recruit Company Commander (Navy version of a Drill Instructor). My recruits continued to lack discipline so after putting them through an intense regimen if exercises asked them why they were here. While still in the leaning rest(Push up position) played the song and ordered them to meditate upon it. The Barracks soon became filled with uncontrolled sobbing and the recruits apologizing for their misbehavior. After 8 years of Clinton and following 911, and after reading Lee's book. I now understand why a song which once filled me with reverence now makes me vomit at the slightest hearing of the song. Sorry Mr. Greenwood. You sir are wrong. 911 was a case of them coming here because we were over there. I challenge you to open your Bible and show me where the political freedom you claim God loves is demonstrated. Where any nation including Israel, can go on sinning and still receive Gods blessing. I am convinced that had you been living at the time of Ahab, you sir would have been among the 300 false prophets assuring Ahab that God was on his side at Naboth

Lee challenges the reader to consider our country's founding and the biblical precepts that guided its founding documents which guide our liberties today. It's an excellent companion with the book, "Freedom's Foundation"!
