I am so glad that I was giving this opportunity to read this book. At first, I was hesitant just because it Mrs Forgy first published book and you never honestly know how it is going to go. No worries! I really enjoyed it. I'm a sucker for bikers and this is no exception. Shadow is a very dirty man (the good kind) and I love his possessiveness. I loved how real he was, how he didn't want to acknowledge his feels for Dani. What is the saying? The tougher they are the harder they fall??!!! Oh yeah, that is the one and man does he fall. Dani was a good strong character. I felt like she stuck up for herself when she needed to. She was put through alot of s*** so I felt bad for her. The good thing is the chemistry between them two was hot. They were both stubborn and very bullheaded and with them having their insecurities, I thought that they complimented each other very well.
Secondary characters were good and strong. Loved Bobby. He had me cracking up. I cannot wait to see if there is more that comes from him. It would be very interesting to see. Babs was a good one for me too. She is one the boy's ol lady and it would be interesting to see if anything comes from her too. She is not in a good situation.
Overall for being a first book I was very impressed. If you are into bikers and love the nitty grittiness of their stories then this one is for you. You will enjoy it!
First Review for Mrs Forgy!!!
Reviewed by Beggin from Mommys a Book Whore
Dani meets her Dad Bull and hot bad boy Shadow and realizes club life is for her- and so is Shadow. But the day he patches her in as his Old Lady her world crashes- her mom is really FBI and used Dani to try to take down the MC......and now her dad, Shadow, and the rest of the MC think she's a traitor......
By: M.N. Forgy
Dani grew up very sheltered and under the thumb of her overbearing mother. She never knew who her dad was or anything about him, except whenever she thought about stepping out of line, her mother would yell at her that she was just trash like her dad. Dani doesn’t know what she wants to do in life or what she wants out of it, but one thing is for sure: she knows that she doesn’t want to remain on her mom’s current path.
When Dani’s mom gets into trouble that’s over her head, she packs up Dani and makes a call to get them out of town. She knows that she can seek protection with Dani’s dad. It turns out that her father is none other than the President of The Devil’s Dust Outlaw Motorcycle Club.
Shadow had a messed up childhood with a junkie mother who was more concerned about getting her next fix than she was keeping food in the home, the bills paid to keep all the utilities turned on or clothing for her and her son. Due to that, he has developed a numbness to life and when the club needs someone taken out, he’s the man who makes it happen without worry.
But at Shadow’s first glance of Dani, he knows that he wants her, until he finds out that she’s the daughter of his President and he doesn’t want to break that club law, even though her innocence and sexiness is so alluring. Dani also finds Shadow to be a rough brand of gorgeously hot and though she’s highly inexperienced, she desperately wants him. But they have to figure out how to have a relationship, which is a risk to his life, without everyone else finding out.
For me, most of the book was 3 stars, but the cliffhanger ending and how the plots & subplots came out is what brought the rest of the book up for me. I’m not so much of a fan of the totally innocent virgin heroine and the ultra-bad boy, cold hearted hero. It especially doesn’t work for me when there is insta-lust/love. The timeframe of the story is only about a week (I think) but no more than a month. So some of the stuff that they would say just seemed cheesy, rushed and forced. I just didn’t buy it. I only bought the second book because of the cliffhanger and it was already out. Otherwise, I may have passed since I read a lot of biker books and they really have to do it for me, or I won’t continue the series.

This one was just what I heard it would be like... angsty, cliffhanger-y & unputdownable.Read more
