Bright yellow plastic
The device is extremely cheaply made, far cheaper than I could have even imagined. The "blades" are made from some sort of serrated tin foil. Upon attempting to cut my first hotdog, I found them completely mangled and in an inoperable state. From that point on the device would no longer shut. I had to try and bend the blades back into shape for attempt two.... which went pretty much exactly like the first. I was not able to make it half way through a hotdog. I am uncertain what this device was designed to cut.... maybe gelatin shaped in the form of a hotdog? Certainly nothing with any meat content will ever be sliced with it.
I took a twelve dollar risk, and now I have a lovely bright piece of plastic junk as a reminder that sometimes things look better than they are.
Would not recommend!
But no, I couldn't get it to cut through one single hot dog, and the efforts bent the tines so it wouldn't even close after that. A waste of time and money.

Quite flimsy. Would not cut the cheap skinless hot dogs or ball park hot dogs. So I tried a banana; it will cut through the yucky squishy blackish bananas.Published 14 months ago by Kimberlea Bartholomew
Do not buy!!! The first time you cut a hot dog the metal slicers bend and makes it worthless. Did'nt even cut my first hot dog. I wasted money on this, don't waste yours.Published 19 months ago by E. Manguiat

Works great, I did notice that I purchased some all beef weiners and they were very hard to cut. Neat little tool.Published on July 29, 2013 by Cathy Conn
The first time I tried to use it, the blades did not cut at all. They just bent to the side instead of cutting (just like the picture that someone has uploaded). Read morePublished on July 12, 2013 by A. Bruen
