I loved the setting of Demon's Dare being at the amusement park Curley World. That was loads of fun. Zeph is another interesting character and I loved when Osbert called him a Swamp Wizard. For us Dogboy fans, this had a cliffhanger with Willowood and Cindy and the Blue River.
Bill Meeks is a wonderful writer. Dogboy is so original and all the other characters are well thought out as well. Nathan Beatty does an outstanding job voicing these characters. They ALL have a very strong presence with awesome accents and unique mannerisms. All I can say is MORE...
I love Mr. Horum. He might be a minor character but this is currently the only adult siding with the kids and trying to instil some wisdom. He is funny in his ways and I enjoy how he shrugs of his talents as minor, a humble person.
The biggest notion I struggled with was that I lost my spot twice. I am very visual as I read and really dive into the books I read. The dream episode and the start of the Curleyworld Follies story I got a bit confused and it took a little to understand where I was and where we were going. I don't know if this makes sense :)
As for Cindy...it is time. She needs to fess up to Dogboy that she too has a power. I am glad that both Bronson and Mr. Horum are suspecting something is up.
I am not sure where I stand with the gruesome stuff yet, but than again, I am a girl and not a 10 year old boy who probably thinks this is the coolest stuff ever.
I am looking forward to read your next book to see what Bronson will decide and how this team of super hero kids are going to tackle the Mayor.
Out of 10 Osbextractor I give it 9
"Demons Dare" is full of tough, nail-biting action and the realistic, violent outcomes that should follow it. A bigger role is played by the ensemble of young characters, each of whom seeks to grasp what their powers can bring them -- will it be revenge against the man who changed them, or something greater? I also enjoyed the bigger, more active role played by Mr. Horum and the undercurrent of ongoing conflict among all the characters.
This is another strong volume in the series and I look forward to reading future books.
Once again, Nathan B. becomes each of the characters and enhances the writer's craft.

The book is the 3rd in the series and does stand on it's own but I do HIGHLY recommend reading the first two as it adds so much more to the experience. Highest recommendation!
The author continues the series with the same engaging, entertaining style as the first 2 books. If you loved the other books, you absolutely must get this one. I really enjoyed finding out more about Colta City's brave young hero while becoming more familiar with some of the side characters. I don't want to spoil too much for anyone. I'll just say there are plenty of cool things in store for fans of this series, and for adventure/superhero fans in general.
Excellent story. Can't wait to see where it goes next.
