Edward Garbowski Jr has written a remarkable story...everything a cozy mystery should be.
Franklin decides to leave the city life and head to the country after the murder of his parents. His inheritance allows him to retire to a small town called Witmore. Witmore unites him with a loyal companion and a love interest. But then the hotel manager is murdered and Franklin must solve it. A Dog's Life is full of surprises as the mystery unravels.
Beautifully told...leaves you feeling satisfied and warm. Looking forward to another book from Edward.
In this delightful setting, the story takes many twists and turns (as any great whodunit should) until finally reaching a surprising conclusion in the final few pages.
I look forward to Garbowski's next book in the series. Will Franklin Cartwright ever bring the murderer of his parents to justice? Will his companionship with that green-eyed wonder blossom? Will he, indeed, settle in Witmore for good? And last, but by no means least, what about Charlie? There's more here than meets the eye, and I, for one, look forward to discovering what that is.
All in all, this book is a great beginning to what promises to be a wonderful journey. Bravo, Mr. Garbowski, no problem getting five stars out of me!
