Editorial Reviews

Review

I have just finished reading this book, more slowly than usual. Bit by bit. Unlike my usual rushed manner. I savored every word. Your exceptionally beautiful language. Your unique way of story-telling. So original. Lyrical, almost poetic and so musical. A story of love and longing. Of family. Of pain and of loss. Of life and death. Thank you for the gift you have given me.
Aliza Ziegler, former chief editor of Yediot Books

A Dog's Luck brings to mind the qualities of Salinger's The Catcher in the Rye. Qualities which have turned The Catcher in the Rye into a cultural milestone in the 20th-century, and in my opinion, A Dog's Luck - in the 21st-century.
The story is built magnificently, layer by layer. It provides a poetic perspective of daily life, with a natural flow that allows the reader a unique journey to his very own intimate and rarely touched upon depths.
Yossi Sadeh, lawyer and media personality; from an on-air approbation, January, 2015

Reading A Dog's Luck brings back forcefully the ever-fading world of the reader's inner-child as he is faced with the wonders and feats which have shaped his perception.
Dr. Doreet Hopp, researcher and lecturer of literature, specializing on the point of connection between literature and psychology and member of the Tel Aviv Institute of Contemporary Psychoanalysis.

A new voice in Israeli prose. A dog's Luck is a short novel, rare in its plot and even more so in its structure. It is an in-depth and attentive introspection of cross-generational relationships and their challenging transformations, an introspection imbued with longing...
Shlomit Cohen-Assif, poet and author

No surprises, as expected with Dr. Morgenstern's credentials and talents, "A dog's luck" is a true cultural masterpiece.
The author does not stop at metaphors but succeeded to complement the unfolding story with hidden poetry between the lines, challenging me to have gratefully read the book three times.
Michael F. Kaufmann, 2017, Amazons' "Futuring the Future"

From the very beginning, I was impressed by the sensitivity, versatility of expression and linguistic dexterity with which the heroine unfolds her story.
This unique use of poetry in prose creates a beautiful texture, which portrays the changing states-of-mind serve as an expression of yearning to the past. I took great pleasure in the writing characterized by a touch of sheer innocence and outstanding charm.
In my opinion, this human touching story, which is marvelously unfolded, is fit for every age. The novel will have an added value for those who find interest in dogs, animals and human relations close to their hearts, and I know quite a few... Bravo!!!
Willi Talmor, an enthusiastic reader

From the Author

The book was written in my mind the minute it was first conceived. Yet. It took me ten years to transform this initial and powerful experience into the novel A Dog's Luck. Quite a few readers have shared with me that the book continues to resonate with them, and that they found themselves rereading the introduction, specific passages or the entire book. Needless to say this is for me a fulfilling outcome.
I hope you will find the book interesting, and I would very much appreciate if you would share your impressions with me. I wish you an enjoyable read.
