About the Author

Bobbi Cole Meyer is the pen name for Barbara Meyer, who relocated from her hometown of Jackson, Mississippi, to Nashville, Tennessee to pursue a career as a lyricist. Over the years Barbara has had numerous songs she co-wrote cut by major artists such as Tom Jones, Loretta Lynn, Barbara Mandrell, Barbi Benton, Stella Parton, The Soul Shakers, the Poppies, Bandana, Mason Dixon, the Wright Brothers and several others. She also co-wrote the theme song for the Italian movie, "Summer Affair," with well-known guitarist and composer, Bucky Barrett. Now residing in the small town outside Nashville, Tennessee, with her husband, Hank, Barbara is busy pursuing a second career, writing fiction, which she claims is her first love. Barbara’s slogan is, “grab them with the first paragraph and don’t turn loose until the last period.” Writing as Bobbi Cole Meyer, Barbara released the erotic romance, "Obsessive Surrender," in late 2013. Her previous books, written under the pen name, Cole Meyer, have been in several genres: drama, historical romance, sci-fi fantasy, and conspiracy thriller. I have been looking forward to this series since reading Uncensored Passion. Another page turner by this author. First.each time I thought Harm would have hot sex with McKay he did not go all the way, although there was a mutual attraction. But when he did it was erotic and and torrid off the charts. Harm is on a quest with McKay a paid P.I.to locate an old girlfriend Emily and her son whom he suspects might be his. Emily and son Donnie constantly on the run to escape from her gangster maniacal, sadistic husband. The search was gripping with many unexpected twists and turns which made for a heart pounding, nail biting read.

We met Harm in Uncensored Passion as the sexy tattoo shop owner and one of Kayla’s “husbands”. Now we get to go on a journey with Harm as he revisits his past with the help of a sexy private investigator. And who doesn’t love a little bit of mystery with a romance novel?

At first it’s honestly little hard to like Harm very much with the way he was treating girls in high school at the start of the book, but it’s not long before Bobbi Cole Meyer has you panting for Harm along side McKay. The chemistry between McKay and Harm is almost instant but it was so worth reading all of the build up.

While McKay is trying to figure out the mystery behind why the girl from Harm’s past is running scared, she really doesn’t know what to make of Harm. Should she trust him?

Gripping and enticing, the story pulls you in right from the first page! You are left with no choice but to eventually fall in love with Harm.

The synopsis of this book had me really wanting to read it. But, I was let down. This is the first book by Bobbi Cole Meyer that I have read. I will probably try another. The writing was decent. The storyline fell way flat and was very dry for me. It felt like the author threw a little bit of everything into it. Now, I haven't read the first one, I didn't realize this was a series before hand.

McKay is a tracker/P.I. and has been hired by Harm to find his ex side piece from high school.

The insta-lust didn't bother me. I just couldn't connect with any of the characters.

Harm just got out of a polyamorous releationship. Think Sister Wives by more like brother husbands. never found out why it ended, I'm guessing that was in the first book that I haven't read.

Emily, the high school side piece baby momma is on the run from her husband, who is mob.

There were a lot of parts I found myself rolling my eyes at.

All the characters, including the fifteen year old Donnie, speak like they are much older than they are. Antonio and his two men speak like they are gangsters in the 1950's. They kept calling McKay "dame". What modern age mobsters use "dame"? They would probably use bitch instead.

And for McKay being such a great tracker, why didn't she realize she was being followed for just about the entire story?

I hate leaving 3 or under ratings, but I was given a copy in exchange for an honest review.
Sorry, but this book just wasn't for me.

~I was given this book for an honest review~

I'll start and say this...this book was kinda slow at first for me, I thought it was going to be so predictable. You know boy hires PI to find an old love with his possible son, hit men chase them and that's the end of the story. I was wrong, sure some of that happen but not in the way I was expecting. Yes Harm and Emily had a friendship but they were young and dumb when everything happen. He is determined to find his son and have relationship along with protecting Emily. McKay was a total surprise but she did her job perfectly but the only problem I had was she ran when things tough. I would have loved to see her stand her ground during that time but I understand what she was thinking as well. McKay is a strong character but also shows her sensitive side as well. She is committed to her job and proves. She is one tough chick. I saw it coming but the romance between her and Harm was so smokin' hot!!!! This book gives you a bit of romance and suspense. These characters have their fair share of troubles but come out victorious in so many ways. I was unsure at first but this turned out to be a pretty good book. I'm glad I stuck with it.
