At first it’s honestly little hard to like Harm very much with the way he was treating girls in high school at the start of the book, but it’s not long before Bobbi Cole Meyer has you panting for Harm along side McKay. The chemistry between McKay and Harm is almost instant but it was so worth reading all of the build up.
While McKay is trying to figure out the mystery behind why the girl from Harm’s past is running scared, she really doesn’t know what to make of Harm. Should she trust him?
Gripping and enticing, the story pulls you in right from the first page! You are left with no choice but to eventually fall in love with Harm.
McKay is a tracker/P.I. and has been hired by Harm to find his ex side piece from high school.
The insta-lust didn't bother me. I just couldn't connect with any of the characters.
Harm just got out of a polyamorous releationship. Think Sister Wives by more like brother husbands. never found out why it ended, I'm guessing that was in the first book that I haven't read.
Emily, the high school side piece baby momma is on the run from her husband, who is mob.
There were a lot of parts I found myself rolling my eyes at.
All the characters, including the fifteen year old Donnie, speak like they are much older than they are. Antonio and his two men speak like they are gangsters in the 1950's. They kept calling McKay "dame". What modern age mobsters use "dame"? They would probably use bitch instead.
And for McKay being such a great tracker, why didn't she realize she was being followed for just about the entire story?
I hate leaving 3 or under ratings, but I was given a copy in exchange for an honest review.
Sorry, but this book just wasn't for me.
I'll start and say this...this book was kinda slow at first for me, I thought it was going to be so predictable. You know boy hires PI to find an old love with his possible son, hit men chase them and that's the end of the story. I was wrong, sure some of that happen but not in the way I was expecting. Yes Harm and Emily had a friendship but they were young and dumb when everything happen. He is determined to find his son and have relationship along with protecting Emily. McKay was a total surprise but she did her job perfectly but the only problem I had was she ran when things tough. I would have loved to see her stand her ground during that time but I understand what she was thinking as well. McKay is a strong character but also shows her sensitive side as well. She is committed to her job and proves. She is one tough chick. I saw it coming but the romance between her and Harm was so smokin' hot!!!! This book gives you a bit of romance and suspense. These characters have their fair share of troubles but come out victorious in so many ways. I was unsure at first but this turned out to be a pretty good book. I'm glad I stuck with it.
