This dart board is a good alternative to one with actual darts. I was sceptical about the magnetic darts thinking that they might not be strong enough for the darts to stay on the board. The darts actually stick quite well. I will say that you might want to take them off as you throw them. If one is already on the board and you throw another, it can get in the way of the second dart and even deflect it off the board. You cant really make multiple bullseyes that way. Good for kids!

I purchased one of these Marky Sparky Doinkit Dart Boards for our games room. It arrived quickly, looks nice, and is fun to play with. The trouble is that the metal face plate separated from the plastic back and sliced a little boys nose before it hit the floor. So beware, the metal face plate may not be securily fastened to the back. Pulling the darts off the board may result in injuries. I am going to drill a hole through the face plate and back then use a nut, bolt, and washer to make sure the two pieces stay together.

UPDATE:
I called the factory yesterday and told them what had happened. They are aware that the older boards will do that and have designed a new board. They are sending me a new board.

Bought this for my 10yr old sons birthday because we have smaller children in the house. Wanted something safe but fun... So far this has done that.
Will update my review once we have it longer than a month.

I have bought 2 so far for gifts for my nephews and both the one local and the one out of state both loved them! the older and younger siblings also enjoyed playing along. It was fun for the adults to play too. it is cardboard backed but that makes it more light weight which is a plus if you are hanging it on the wall. The darts stick to the board great and with little effort. the darts are big enough to fit in little hands but small enough to still fly pretty straight. the back of the dart is a mesh and is flexible in a similar way as a Chinese finger trap so one thing to watch for is little ones will be tempted to stick their fingers in although similar to the finger trap they can be removed pretty easily. Def would buy again if I had any more little ones to buy for. :)

This dart board is ok, no real complaints other than it is made our of cardboard so if you step on it for example, that's it, it will be ruined, but it looks good and the darts stick to it well without sliding down. I just think it is way overpriced for a round piece of cardboard, I would have given it more stars if it cost less.

I read through reviews and could not find the information I'm about to provide. Yes, it's a cute product and it's very child-safe, I'm sure my kids will tinker with it and it'll do the job for our game room....BUT, the darts do not fly straight/true and it's really not much different then throwing velcro balls at a surface. There is no accuracy, it's just hit & miss and this thing only mimics a dart board by appearance. The darts themselves do not have fins but instead a small sack of fabric which causes drag to induce some stability. Anyone who wants to play an actual game of darts will be disappointed.

Our kids and their friends love this toy, the darts fly pretty well and are pretty sturdy. The magnets stick pretty well, but they do have a tendency to bounce off the board and shift an inch lower than where it first strikes the board. But this is not a serious con, unless you are very serious about darts - in which case you shouldn't be buying a cheap kids version to begin with. The game is a lot of fun, good enough that our son wants to take this to school for a game day.

Its a bit hard to mount on the wall correctly - if you put screws both for the top and the bottom of the board - the board sits snugly and doesn't move while taking the darts off.

Also, the darts don't damage the wall at all - this was after a kid-party with 10 boys throwing these darts at the board/wall with abandon.

Really cheap, poorly made toy. Very loud when the darts hit the cardboard/metal backing. This should be priced at $10.

The board is reinforced cardboard, flimsier than expected but has thus far survived 7 months of play by 8-year olds & up.
When pulling off the darts the board often comes off the wall too... the boys don't always hold it down while pulling the darts off.
The darts seem sturdy, they attach easily when played appropriately and have survived attempts at bending and abusing.
I don't know how realistically they resemble true darts, but they work well for young kids.
All in all a decent play board but I wouldn't expect it to last very long unless hung up permanently in a good spot.

I was looking for a safe dartboard that my daughters can have in their rooms to play with. The board itself is very thin and light, which gives the impression that it is very flimsy. For what it was made for, it is actually made soundly, but because of the way it is made, I feel it should cost a lot less than what they are charging for it. It comes with 6 magnetic darts, 3 blue and 3 orange. The darts each have a flat magnet where the dart tip should be and the shaft is made of a mesh type material with a small funnel shape at the end. No feathers or edges, so it is a very safe dart.
I've had magnetic dart boards in the past where you had a 50% chance of them sticking to the board based upon how hard you throw the darts. These magnets are very strong which is both a good and bad thing. Good in that 100% of the throws stick, but Bad because if you happen to throw very close to your other darts, it will stick to the dart instead of the board. My kids don't take issue with this, as they just count it as sticking to the same spot as the first dart and tally points that way. It bugs me staring at a sideways dart on the board, but if they like it, then I can't complain too much. Other than that, it is a perfect bedroom dartboard for kids. At the current $27 price tag, I would recommend this. If this was closer to $15 I would say it is a must buy for any child's room.
