Works great with all my cards (4-16GB collection). This is a glued-together item (not an epoxy fill), but trial bending and prodding doesn't show any weak spots. The translucent white area by the attachment ring hides a blue drive activity light. It's dim enough you won't see it in a bright office, but it's easily visible by shading it with your hand. Besides, very few of the super-micro adapters like this have any activity light at all! The card slips in the connector side and fits snugly enough I don't worry about it falling out. However, unlike some other units, there's a recess in the housing to let you easily get a thumbnail on the edge of the card to pull it back out (some adapters have so little clearance you need a knife blade to extract your card). USB clearance on these micros are always something to check, but this slips in and out of my laptop, workstation and servers easily but snugly. The ring is a swivel which helps keep stress down (important because I attach cards to retractable lanyards). Shipping was from China and came in a small brown well-marked shipping envelope in a reasonable time. I'm ordering a whole bunch more of these to give out as gifts. I just can't find a bad side to this.

I kept wondering, where do I stick in the Micro SD card on this thing, but when I realized it went into the part that slides into the USB port, I thought, "How ingenious!" Truly amazing. I'll never buy a flash drive again, just multiple Micro SD cards and more of these. Cheap enough to install a card and leave it there, but if I need the card for a phone or smartwatch or the awesome "Excelvan® 32GB Wi-Fi Car Black Box/Car DVR Recorder", I'll just pull it out and use it. I'm quite impressed with this.

Day1: Awesome! Day2: Fail!

Worked awesome for the first day. Wrote tons of files... Songs, audiobooks, backup computer files, documents, everything. 32gb, 64gb, all from the usb port on my computer. Popped sd card into my phone and it just worked. Thought it was the solution.

Day 2: Nothing but errors trying to write to any card. From multiple computers, multiple cards. It just didn't work anymore. Into the trash it went. Oh well, not like it cost me a fortune, but I'll be trying a different brand.

Also, something that seems like it might be inherent with this design, is the sd card can sometimes be pulled out from the adapter when removing it from the usb port. Not a big deal if you're paying attention, but poses the risk of the sd card falling out and getting lost. Just need to be alert when removing.

Once it arrived, I put in a Micro SD card and then put it in my computer and it worked fine with a 4gb Micro SD card in it. I then put it in my printer and scanned to it and it worked fine. The next day the printer told me that there was nothing plugged into the USB port, so I moved it to my computer and the computer didn't recognize it. The little activity light didn't even light up.

To their credit, they quickly sent a new one that worked for 2 or 3 days. This one still lights up, but is not recognized by either the computer or the printer.

I'm done. It was too cheap to send back. At least it wasn't a big loss.

Update 8/27: The one that arrived first and worked just died after 2 months of light use, so I actually connected it about 25 times. The other one I received about 3 weeks after, still works but that one has had only 4-5 times used.
The product works as expected and are a good size, not too big or too small that I would loose it, as I have done in the past. The cap stays in place even as part of my key-chain and other designs have not.
I ordered 2 just in case, since I know that sometimes these could have an issue...and one of the 2 actually did. But the vendor responded right back and offered to send a replacement. For the good deal these are, I can wait again to get it... Thanks Doinshop

I brought two of these, I wanted them for micro SD cards since you can get them cheaper than the bigger SD cards and USB flash drives here on Amazon. I like the size of it, and it feels durable. And I don't know why but my SD card slot on my laptop doesn't work at all, it's really far down in the computer so poor planning I guess. I had a problem with one of my SD cards not formatting, then as I was trying another SD card I realized it was a bad one. I can easily tell where the SD card goes into, it has a slot up in the front of the USB reader connector. Separating the SD card and the USB connector. I like this way better, no worry about losing the SD card,or having it in the way.

Plastic barrier between reader and USB fit was too tight, forced it and could NOT get my SD Card out. Eventually bent the housing in desperation to recover my SD Card 16 GB of data gone. Plastic barriers/divider still had break tabs protruding sharp little numb.

Don't waste your money unless you want to buy something that will break a few months after the 30 day return policy expires. Plus, when this item breaks, it will ruin you much more expensive microSD card. I tried to contact the seller, but they refuse to communicate with me whatsoever. If I could do it all over again, I would spend a few extra dollars and buy something which isn't cheap garbage from China.
