Love these little things. I took one apart to see how it works and there are little jagged pieces that engage on the wires, going through the insulation and making contact on the wire inside. Then the stuff on the inside of it seals it from the weather conditions. It makes quick work of attaching two or even more small wires together. If you want to be extra good, you could also strip the wires and twist them together before crimping. But overall, you don't really need to do that. It does a great job as is designed.

We used these for some low voltage audio connections. The connections are located in a floor plate and sometimes get a little wet as they are mopped over. They seem to be holding up well. The only issue I had, is there isn't much movement on the connectors when crimping so it is a little hard to tell how much to press them.

Dolphin Super B connectors are very good! The white Super B connectors do not have the sealant inside, the blue Super B connectors have the sealant inside the connector.
Both the white and the blue are very good.
Inside the connectors; there are sharp teeth that will bite through wire insulation, as they are crimped.
I'm "old school", I still strip the wires and twist them together, then crimp.
There's a rugged insulation on the outside of each connector, to prevent a short circuit.
