"Reading The Dom Games is like watching a reality TV show. Its addicting, has you wanting to cover your eyes while peeping through a gap in your fingers. Its heart poundingly good so much so it steals your breath and leaves you in a dizzy state. And it's SO GOOD that despite the twists and turns, the stabs to the gut and the heart breaking reality you keep on." - Sophie, Bookalicious Babes Blog
"Oh MAN, was this addicting! I couldn't take my eyes away. I've never read anything like this before. Rachel Robinson opened up my eyes to pretty damn fantastic world of kinky reality television. THE DOM GAMES had me blushing from head to toe. It had my heart pounding and my pulse racing. I devoured the thing like nobody's business." -Shayna Renee's Spicy Reads
"The Bachelor meets Fifty Shades and although BDSM is a part of this book it's not heavily a part of the story line so if you steer clear of these books normally then I would take a chance on this as it's not about whips and chains it's truly a love story." -Bookhooked

Not as much BDSM as you might think
I'll be honest, if I didn't love this author I likely wouldn't have read this book but I am so glad I did. As my title suggests, it was unexpectedly beautiful.
There were definitely hard parts to read, times where I thought for sure she would use her safe word and was heart broken for her a time or two but the author proved she knows how to write a happily ever after.
Dominic Reed is a Dom. He is also the head of the show and plans to be the star this year to find his forever sub.
Kayla is a college student who enters into the Dom Games in a chance to win the money she needs to pay for her time at Harvard.
Neither expected anything real. But real is what they got. But when ratings are at stake and Dominic has to decide between how he personally feels and how he should professionally handle the fall out he does what some would consider unthinkable.
That was the only part of the book that hurt to read. It was devastating to know what he was asking of Kayla.
In the end though this was a shockingly beautiful story about finding your true self.
Great author, great book, great characters.
Kayla was a women going to college to get her degree when an opportunity arises for her to make Ten Million Dollars the only thing is she would have to be a submissive on the Dom Game Shows.
Kayla really wanted the money so knew she would have to follow the rules but she was amazed that they called her. Dominic Reed the owner of the show and studios saw her face and innocence to BDSM so he had his PA call and let her know.
Dom met with each of the contestants and made sure everything was signed. Dom made sure that Kayla had the room at the end of the hall away from the rest of the girls. Living in the house with a bunch of subs was a little disconcerting to Kayla as they talk about the lifestyle.
Dominic and Kayla get to know each other until the scenes with Kayla and Dominic people started seeing something more than being Dom & Submissive so that was not going to happen because of the show. Kayla was having a hard time seeing Dom with the other subs and then listening to them talk about him.
Kayla being her bratty self is grooming herself for a punishment in the punishment room she assumed it would be a spanking. When Dominic comes in the room he decides on another form of punishment. He secures her body on the table then he leaves. She then sees that he is in a scene with a submissive on the monitor and thy turned up the sound so she would have to listen to everything.
Cameras were on her the whole time and it shows the moment she couldn't take anymore and breaks down in sobs. Of course that caused big rating for the show. Dominic comes to her to comfort her and she tells him to leave. Things progress between them in fact she goes to his parents for the weekend. It was bliss as Dominic showed softer side of himself. Kayla didn't want to leave to go back to reality.
The last taping of the show before the finale was called for the remaining subs to share the Dom on camera doing different things. Kayla had no idea what they were going to be filming until another sub comes into tell her about the scene.
Kayla is extremely upset because Dominic knew it was her hard limit. But, the producer would not take out the scene. Dominic was giving her an out telling her they could film without her. But she didn't want that to happen so she agrees to do that part of the show. In the beginning of the taping when they all dropped their blindfolds Kayla realizes she can't do it she safewords out on Dominic and then flees the scene without looking back.
She flies back home knowing that she has to get away from Dominic and the show. Dominic assigns Van for security and he has Tim her friend intern from the show to watch over her. Kayla graduates and Tim was able to get into Harvard with her. Her heart was extremely broken and she tried to forget Dominic but it was hard.
Dominic finishes the show and of course Kayla wanted to find out who won her Dom and forever. Does Dominic go after Kayla and try to get his one true love? Can he give up his Dom lifestyle for Kayla. Can Kayla get her HEA. Very Very light BDSM.
This is the first time reading this author and I enjoyed her writing.
Dom is a Dominant who thinks he wants a forever with a submissive, he wants control at all times with no feelings attached. Kayla wants a dream career and the means to achieve this goal with no strings to hold her back from obtaining this success. They both have Dominant prowess with a hint of submissive genes in there and no clue about love, when the love bug hits them full force they have no idea on how to react and what this means for their future together.
Although Dom was delicious and Kayla was the spark of all firecrackers, the real star of this story was the moma bear, the southern twangster, BETSY, I love her so much, so charming and old school, couldn't get enough of her!
Fantastic Story Rachel Robinson and I thank you for that!

*We're both straddling the bench, my back against his front. His hands glide over my thighs as he leans his face into my neck. He kisses my ear.
"So we're clear, I would actually rather be f***ing you."*
I love how Kayla is able to create a friendship with Dominic despite the unusual circumstances. I'm not sure who is more surprised about the friendship: Dominic or Kayla. They both push each others boundaries but what is the game and what is real? I had a moment where I wanted to punch Dominic and hug Kayla. It just proves that Rachel has created likable individuals that you connect to and you feel emotions for them. Really a great story. Loved it from start to finish.
If in doubt, research! The expression is "to make do" not " to make due". The author makes this mistake several times throughout the book so it's the writer's mistake, not a feature of auto-correct. Far too many writers fail to adequately grasp the disservice they do their readers with these kinds of errors because it drags the reader out of the story, often with a sigh of frustration at such bad or lazy habits.
I did enjoy the dynamic between the two lead characters, some of it was a tad disjointed and felt fake at times, and the book was chock full of hackneyed expressions and tired phrasing. Good authors don't fall into that lazy style of writing.
With most of the applicants being your generic sub, Kayla, the totally 'I'm not a sub', grabs Dominic's attention. Let's just say all the rules are broken, because guess what?, he starts to fall for vanilla. There are some aspects of this I didn't like & felt Kayla was being betrayed but I sort of got over it as he really had to fight to get her back. Yep you get the bitchy behind the scenes female banter in the 'sub house' which makes it feel real.
I loved Betsy, Doms mum but his other family, not so much & you can see why he's the way he is. However this is a love story with a difference. 💋
