About the Author

K. Aslihan Yener, (Ph.D. 1980) in Art History and Archaeology, Columbia University, New York, is Associate Professor of Near Eastern Archaeology in the Department of Near Eastern Languages and Civilizations, University of Chicago. She has directed several excavations in Turkey and published extensively on archaeometallurgy, trade and craft technology.
