It wasn't until I finished the book that I read that this author is American. I thought I was reading a book written by an author who studied English as a second language. There were so many misused and inappropriately used words I really didn't think believe English was this authors first language. I have been a woman all of my life yet, I don't have a "crouch" oh, this wasn't a typo or one time offense this happened throughout the book. The heroine also "culls" her back A LOT. Culls? Seriously? I believe when you used the verb ramped you were shooting for "rampant" and the list goes on and on. Now, let's get to descriptions...the heroine had a "gooey center" the hero emitted "gooey honey".... He had caramel colored hair, unless it was wet and then it was chocolatey and her nips were gumdrops. So basically, we have Willie Wonka Meets Erotica. I had a craving for Twix bars the entire time I was reading. It get worse....this is BDSM light....ohhhhh, you are promised an incredibly dark man with demented cravings and around page 470 some dominant wannabe shows up and what's the first thing that happens? Spoiler Alert The heroine yells her safe word "muffin" and it immediately is shut down. I have learned through reading responsibly written BDSM's that if a Dom is doing his job right, there should never be a time that a sub has to safe word out. Now, what annoyed me the most, every single scene had a soundtrack....there were so many songs mentioned that you would think Lena Black has a deal with iTunes. There's a lot off sex scenes with very little steam, it's just the same scene written over and over again.Read more ›

I had the hardest time reviewing this book. I liked the characters well enough. Damien Hunt's certainly not hard to take, but the story had me scratching my head a lot. Apart from feeling like I was reading a book that was the result of Fifty Shades of Grey and The Crossfire Series making a baby and A Dominant Man was the end result, I found some aspects of the storyline hard to believe. Some of it moved too fast, some of it chopped and changed all over the place, confusing me and the BDSM aspect of it, fell flat to me, not entirely believable.
Overall I largely enjoyed it although all the sex kind of bored me after awhile and for someone like me who likes them hot and sexy, I felt ready to scream I had a headache after one too many very similar sex scenes.
I was confused by some of the incorrect wording used and could have done without reading some of the odd ways of describing the female genitalia but that's just me I guess.
Bits I loved, other parts I flicked through in a desperate bid to get to the end. It was actually from the last few chapters that I started to get into the story more, then I hit that ending and I was back to the head scratching again. Not a fan of the cliff hangers I have to say. Despite my confusion over whether I loved this book or hated it I will have to get the next book when it's out to find out what happens but I really hope it's not as long as this one was.

I liked the story to a point because it was an odd cliff hanger and the plot was not quite believable. To me for all the praises given to by Damian I found Gabrielle not to hold up, especially at the end of the book. Interesting plot twist to create drama and cliff hanger. They are young and there seems to be a real lack of maturity, communication and basically trust, breaks back and forth all the time. For all their profession of love to me their relationship was more lust and infatuation. Hey it is fiction and wanted to give more stars but it is good writing, a few editing mistakes easy to ignore. I will wait for this series to end before I decide if I want to continue with following books. I also do not think the author has investigated the life style enough.

damaged what? In this book both the main characters are damaged souls who want repaired but can't seem to figure out how to fix themselves. or do they? This book does leave you hanging and Lena really needs to get book two out.
Ok so seriously if you picked up this book and thought that there would not be any sex to it, I bet you got a ride awakening. The sex was fun and very creative for some you might say to much but for made I say bring on some more.
This book has a good sense of humor and had me sitting not only fanning myself but also snickering. It remind me of a cross between Crossfire and 50 shades, it has lots similarities in character profiles (sort of) it not a copy and that is not what I am saying for me she took bits and pieces of what I lived about the characters (reached in my mind) and melded them to create this fantastic read. I refuse to spoil it for you, if you want to know more read the book.
I will say my only beef with the book is the word Culling for snuggling or pulling closer. I am an animal person for Magee culling is picking of what isn't needed to make a group thrive. The author now's I feel this way and she stands by it and in my mind when I read it I replace the word culling with snuggling, problem (not really a problem, just a distraction for me) solved.
