ERIC METAXAS is the author of four New York Times Bestsellers, including the #1 Bestseller, BONHOEFFER: Pastor, Martyr, Prophet, Spy, which was named “Book of the Year” by the ECPA and sold over one million copies in 19 languages. Called a “biography of uncommon power,” it appeared on numerous 2010 “Best of the Year” lists and was ranked #21 on the Amazon.com listing of Most Highlighted Books of all time.

He is host of the Eric Metaxas Show, a nationally-syndicated daily radio program in 120 cities. (MetaxasTalk.com) ABC News has called Metaxas a “photogenic, witty ambassador for faith in public life,” and The Indianapolis Star described him as “a Protestant version of William F. Buckley.” Metaxas is also the host of Socrates in the City: Conversations on the Examined Life, broadcast on the NRB network and www.Socratesinthecity.com.

Metaxas was the keynote speaker at the 2012 National Prayer Breakfast in Washington DC, an event attended by the President and First Lady, the Vice President, members of Congress, and other U.S. and world leaders. Previous keynote speakers have included Mother Theresa, Bono, and Tony Blair. That speech and Eric’s essay on the experience, were put into a book, No Pressure, Mr. President: The Power of True Belief in a Time of Crisis.

Along with his colleague John Stonestreet, Metaxas is the voice of BreakPoint, a radio commentary that is broadcast on 1,400 radio outlets with an audience of eight million.

In 2011, Metaxas was the 17th recipient of the Canterbury Medal awarded by the Becket Fund for Religious Freedom. He has testified before Congress about the rise of anti-Semitism in the U.S. and abroad, and spoke at CPAC2013 on the issue of Religious Freedom. In September 2013, Eric and his wife Susanne were jointly awarded the Human Life Review’s “Great Defender of Life Award.” Metaxas has honorary Doctorates from Sewanee College, Hillsdale College, and Liberty University.

Eric’s book (November 2014) MIRACLES: What They Are, Why They Happen, and How They Can Change Your Life hit #12 on the New York Times Best Seller list and is being translated into German, Polish, Greek, Portuguese, Hungarian, Romanian, Russian, Estonian, Slovak, Korean, Swedish, Finnish, and Croatian.

His Dec. 25th, 2014 op-ed for the Wall Street Journal, titled "Science Increasingly Makes the Case for God," is unofficially the most popular and shared piece in the history of the Journal, garnering over 450,000 Facebook Likes and 8,000 comments.

Metaxas is a Senior Fellow and Lecturer at Large for the King’s College in New York City.

Disrespects American history,
1 Star
Disrespects American history,
My copy arrived today and I would think Constitutional conservatives and those who value American history would have some serious issues with the book. 1) Donald is referred to as a president but the previous leader (Obama?) is referred to as a King (not as someone elected by the people) who is is working with non-human nasty swamp people from a money swamp. Itsuggests that Donald overthrew the previous king instead of there being an election and a peaceful transfer of power, (2) it gives Donald credit for the formation of the freedom loving country instead of acknowledging the efforts and sacrifices of the founding fathers of the nation and a couple hundred years of history, (3) from the sample pages freely available on Amazon, you can see that it depicts other politicians as swamp creatures instead of as other citizens with rights and a vote. (4) the whole MSNBC gang thing is an attack on the press where freedom of the press and seems to equate a news organization with a foreign violent drug cartel. The press is, of course, constitutionally protected. (5) It depicts what basically amounts to the entire DNC as nonhumans and totally fails to mention that people like AOC and Bernie Sanders are, in fact, human citizens of the land who (like Donald) we’re legally elected into their positions by the free people of the land. (6) It does refer to the swamp creatures and the immigrants twice as “comrades” in a way that comes across as a cold-war communist thing and these comrades are in opposition of the true citizens of the free land. (7) The whole part about Donald ushering in waves of immigrants and letting in anyone who loves freedom is very ironic in light of President Trump’s historic restrictions on immigrations. There is some criticism of the book’s depiction of immigrants but the immigrants in the book are depicted as cave people, pretty much like the people of the land. I think the concern about the depiction of immigrants As nonhuman is not accurate. Having said that, it should be noted that George Soros is portrayed as a swamp creature, a George-o-saurischians, and AOC is depicted as a little girl who wants to take people’s money through something called the Green Raw Deal. The character that looks like Bernie Sanders is referred to as a crazy old man. They are in cahoots to get immigrants to come and take over the country. This is just a children’s book style repackaging of the conspiracy that George Soros was behind a dangerous invasion of immigrants at our southern border. The book says that Donald wants to let in anyone who will agree to our law and it omits any mention of the President issuing a 100% mandatory separation policy for families of cave people coming to the land. In conclusion, this book is a good choice for anyone lacking respect for truth, history, and our election process but a bad choice for people with integrity; definitely not a book for children.
