Boots fit as expected, color and quality are exceptional!
I like them so much I might get another pair either in black or the bronze sparkle.
Beautiful, fit perfect, the color and quality is worth the price.

When the feet are uncomfortable, so is the mind and body. With these words, Donald J Pliner has committed his life to the quality and perfection of an innovative line of shoes. A life-long and family tradition is continued with his luxuriously comfortable footwear that never compromises creativity or fashion. Visionary designer Donald J Pliner launched his line of luxury footwear and accessories in 1989, and immediately established a reputation for innovative design and high style for both men and women. Pioneering new materials, such as stretchable micro-fibers, he also brought unprecedented comfort, flexibility, and lightness to footwear. Born into a Chicago-based family shoe business, life at DJP is also a family affair. Creative director Lisa Pliner, Donald's wife and frequent model for the innovative ad campaigns, works side-by-side with him to develop each new collection, inserting her artist's vision into the designs, colors and textures. And the Pliner's pure white Maltese, BabyDoll, is ever present, inspiring her own clothing line for the past three years. Today this global brand, manufactured in both Italy and Spain, has established an almost cult following among people who were originally attracted by the fashion-forward style, but return again and again for the comfort and craftsmanship.

If you are debating whether or not not to buy this boot-STOP! Buy it now!! You will own the most luxurious, sexy and comfy (no, not an oxymoron) boot ever!! I'm a makeup artist and am on my feet for 10+ hours a day. These boots give support and comfort! The first few days after about six hours on my feet hurt. But really, what shoe wouldn't at that point!! I hesitated putting this review up just because I don't want to see anyone else rocking these boots! I have a biiiiiig foot, I'm six feet tall size 11, usually I cramp my foot into designer shoes. I could have worn a 10.5, but the 11 is roomy bc of the make!! BUY THEM!!

Bottom line, I am overjoyed that I invested in these boots. However... here are some points of clarity... I bought the Olive, and they have a different texture and color to them. It is like burnished in some areas and not in others. It almost gives the feeling of having been around the barn a few times. It also looks VAGUELY camo. Now, I hate camo, have no desire to wear it, but I still LOVE LOVE LOVE THESE BOOTS! When I say camo... it's just to try to illustrate the texture and the pattern isn't a flat color. In the picture, it looks like shadows on the boot but in person they are texture patches, like worn spots. When you see them in the light you can see why they are called Olive versus what they look like in the picture - brown. that being said, I still wear them with everything - gray, black, blue - it's not green enough to be "green". I am an 8.5, sometimes have to go up to a 9, but these fit perfect at an 8.5, and I have wide feet. I really love them. They aren't your typical boot. They aren't a polished boot. People either look at them like "what the heck?" or say "OH MY GOD I LOVE THOSE BOOTS!". It's a strong reaction, either way. I am looking for outfits just to make an excuse to wear them more. Also - very very very tight on the calf. I was worried the first day, but they are loosening up a little. My calves aren't teeny but they aren't big, either.

I'm 5'5' and my calves measure 15" at their widest. When I first put on the boots, I couldn't get the inside zipper up the last 2 inches, but after wearing them around the house for 30 minutes, I was finally able to get the inside zipper up. I was also messing around with the top outside zipper and figured that in a worst case scenario, I could zip the inside zipper all the way, but leave the outside zipper undone an inch or two which stylistically flares them a little bit. In the end, the boots stretched a little with wear so I was able to get all zippers up. As for length fit, they are slightly on the narrow side and also a bit on the long side. I ordered a half size down from what I wear in flats and running shoes and I still have a good bit of room at ahead of the toe. The quality is very good and they are comfortable.

Substandard quality this year. Last year I purchased the 2012 version of this boot ...the Devi2. It was my favorite boot ever. I recently ordered the Devi 3 and have been shocked by the poor quality of the boot this year relative to prior years. I exchanged a couple of pairs, but will be returning the replacement. The overall manufacturing process appears to have been lacking serious quality control. I cannot believe that these are Donald Pliner boots. They are not representative of the typical quality/craftsmanship of Donald Pliner. Also worth noting is the fact that these boots were manufactured in China.

I have been eyeing the DJP Devi boot for two years now, but I just couldn't justify spending over $300 on a pair of boots (the black reverse calf has a current retail price of $398 at DJP). The price was right on Amazon, so I finally made the purchase...and these boots did not disappoint! I am usually a size 7 to 7.5, but a size 7 was the right choice with these boots. I have a high instep and my feet run a bit wide, although not wide enough to require wide-width shoes. The width of the Devi is good for me. The instep is a bit snug, but I imagine it will stretch with wear. I usually wear tights with my boots, so I don't like them too loose. If you have a high instep and plan on wearing thick socks, you may need to go up a half-size. I like that the foot of these boots is smooth leather, which I find easier to maintain than suede or nubuck. I almost ordered the all leather version from DJP, but then found these instead. Perfect!

Only gave 3 stars if I had bought these full price. Bought with shipping for under $200 so really deserve more stars. Worth the money. Hv friend who owns the brown, which do look more expensive. Vintage brown always looks better, but I personally wear more black. Don't agree with the fit comments. Accurate on the foot. True to size but they have a lot of shape on the calf so with a slim leg they are a bit full and overly shaped. Narrow to boot top. Would have liked them to be an inch or so taller, however easy for any boot to look taller if you wear a boot warmer/topper which if long enough will also help fill out the calf a little without wearing a thick sock and being tighter on the foot.

These boots are beautifully crafted and with the 30% discount amazon was offering they were a steal - literally 1/2 the price of direct purchase, department store or zappos. I have another pair of DJ Pliner vintage suede boots, and I was expecting the suede to feel like those - more like fabric. But these are made of actual real, rugged, suede. They feel more like brushed leather than suede - very high quality. I was also concerned these would be wide in the calf since I have really skinny legs, but wide they definitely are not. They are very snug and sleek in the calf. That's the only thing I'm struggling with is how snug they feel in the shoe width and calf when I walk. I can barely zip them up with a legging on. Beautiful, sleek, great price. but tight fitting.
