The sole reason I didn't give this 5 stars (which I ordered for my 95-year old mother) is that the power lead, at the bottom of the handle, can be pulled out fairly easily if the cord snags on something. Otherwise, it's a great product with crisp, clear magnification. a real light bulb instead of LEDs and a comfortable handle. Personally, I use their Optivisor for my hobbies and wouldn't be without one ever again.

Got this for my 86 year old Dad. He had quit reading the newspaper, due to deminishing eyesight. I got this for him despite his objections and he is now reading the paper and the other print that he had just resigned himself to give up. His quality of life will be extended due to this excellent tool.

This is a first. I was shopping for a lighted magnifier here on Amazon and I saw the Donegan product. It looked just like my old unit that I've had for...well, since I moved out of the folks house in the 70s. It looked like it so much I had to take a closer look at mine; the exact same brand. IT STILL WORKS! It's corded with a bulb (the original bulb!) Now, I'm looking for a cordless model with LEDs, but this device has lasted easily 40 years! Yeah, the cord will pull out if you're not careful. But there aren't many products that stand the test of time like this one. It sits on my monitor, ready to help. Pretty awesome. Highly recommended!
