Product Description

Ringtone Maker is an enhancement of Ringdroid which adds the ability to fade in/out (MP3 format only), and allows you to share your ringtones by e-mail. This free ringtone app creates tones, alarms, and notifications from MP3, WAV,AAC/MP4, and 3GPP/AMR files you load onto your phone through the SD card or that you purchase through the Amazon MP3 store. Unlike many Android apps that use the Menu keys to store some software functions, most of Ringtone Maker’s controls are out on the interface and all respond to touch. You can set the start and end of the clip by sliding arrows along the timeline, by pressing Start and End while the file plays, or by typing in time stamps.

Features:
Copy, cut and paste.
Fade in/out for mp3.
Adjust volume for mp3.
Preview the ringtone files and assign to contact.
Open an existing audio file.
View a scrollable waveform representation of the audio file at 5 zoom levels
Set starting and ending points for a clip within the audio file, using an optional touch interface
Play the selected portion of the audio, including an indicator cursor and auto scrolling of the waveform
Play anywhere else by tapping the screen
Save the clipped audio as a new audio file and mark it as Music, Ringtone, Alarm, or Notification.
Record a new audio clip to edit
Delete audio (with confirmation alert)
Launches automatically in response to the GET_CONTENT intent with a mime type of audio if any other application wants to pick an audio file (for example the "Rings Extended" application).
Assign a ringtone directly to a contact.
Sort alphabetically by Tracks, Albums, Artists.
File formats supported: MP3 AAC/MP4 (including unprotected iTunes music) WAV 3GPP/AMR (this is the format used when you record sounds directly on the handset).

Tips:
Long-press on an audio file from the main screen to delete it.
Copy audio files to your SD card using a USB cable, or get MP3s using the Amazon MP3 application.
Tap anywhere on the waveform to start playing at that position.
While playing, tap the word Start or End to quickly set the start and end markers to the current playback time.
Use the jog wheel for more precise adjustments.
Press copy menu while editing files, then you can paste it to current file, or any other files of same type.
Music in clipboard will be paste to adjacency of end markers.
If bitrate is not match, you can also paste together, but the new waveform looks weird. That’s doesn’t affect the sound quality of new music file.

This app is very easy to use and is exactly what I wanted. I can put a song onto my phone, or I can record a sound, and then it displays the entire song in a sound wave image. You tap the image and set the beginning and end of the slice you want, and you can preview it as many times as you want to be sure you are getting it right. You can tap anywhere in the song and it will start playing from there - so you don't have to listen from the beginning each time if you are trying to edit the end. Then you save it and voila - it is ready to use. In minutes I had a new ringtone and a new alarm. I'm very pleased with it. The only (tiny) downside is it does have ads at the bottom. But they take up very little space and so far I have not found them particularly annoying.

Permissions if your worried about are for saving ringtones to your contacts. Great program for breaking apart MP3 files to sounds instead of paying for ringtones.

I first tried mp3 cutter and ringtone maker!! and was unable to make a single ringtone because it continuously crashed. Then I tried Ringtone Maker and it worked perfectly. It is very easy to use and very fun making and assigning ringtones. LG Optimus G (Sprint)

Years ago I used a music editor online and it was quite complicated. I found that Ringtone editor was soooooo simple and easy to use that even an old woman like me could figure it out and use it the very first time that I tried. My ringtone was too long and I had to edit it a couple of times more. I wanted to use the "Eyes of Texas" and found that my phone didn't ring that long and the music cut off and went to Voicemail before the song had finished. I called Verizon and found that the music plays for 30 seconds before it goes to Voicemail. I had my Voicemail removed and the ringtone still cut off because the system said that "the caller was not available" again after 30 seconds. They lengthened my ringtone time from 30 to 40 seconds (maximum), and I could still keep my Voicemail. It works great now,,,,but, a tiny bit of the end of the song is still cut off. So, good luck and stick to shorter songs. Thank you "Ringtone Maker", you made my day!

This is a very easy to use application. I originally had difficulty with it until I read the Instructions and realized it only works on MP3 format songs. It was very easy to find a free application for my PC that converts Windows Media Audio (WMA) format music into MP3 format music. Once the MP3 Files are copied to my Samsung Galaxy S4 (Android) phone, they show up in the Ringtone Maker. It is very easy to select which part of the music to play as a ringtone. This is especially handy when eliminating an intro to a song so only a selected portion plays as a ringtone.

************ UPDATE - JUNE 30 2016 *******

I've moved from the Fire Phone to a new LG V10 and back into the traditional Android operation system and I'm still using this great app with my new phone. It works like a charm just as it always did with the Fire Phone and my husband is using it on his Blu Energy 2 phone now as well.
***************************************************
Works perfectly in my new Fire Phone. My one complaint about switching from my Galaxy Note to the Fire Phone was the inability to easily use my own music as ringtones for specific callers. This app solved that issue easily. Allows you to select exactly the starting and ending points of the song you want to hear as the ring tone and then apply it to specific contacts or even as your primary ringtone. You can do multiple songs and set different ones for different contacts.

You can click on any music in your music file on your SD carrd, and pull it into the ringtone maker program. Cut it where you want and then save it as your main ringtone or attach it as the ringtone for a friend. Perfect!
