This album was released in 1992. It was the pop quality of the early 90s songs. Very easy to listen to. It contains a variety of songs from ballads to dance songs. There is even a song that Madonna wrote and produced for Donna that she decided she felt didn't fit "The Immaculate Collection" when she recorded it so she gave it to Donna. Donna takes the song and makes it one of the stand out hits on the album. You can hear Madonna's back-up vocals, too!
There are several stand-out tracks:
Think It Over
Praying For Love
It's My housee
Just a Dream
World With No Shame
I love this album!
donna delory was madonna's back-up singer. and i heard she was doing a "duet" with madonna on this album "just a dream." it turned out that madonna just adds some backing vocals to the song that you can hear best as "just a dream" majesticly fades out into the neverwhere where all songs go after the fade.
i was obsessed, i had gotten "do anything" by natural selection for niki harris' (madonna's other backing singer...)...
what surprised me was... delory had a really really good album. skipping to track #7 for madonna soon faded out to skipping to track #5 or #10.
a fun - if not - way over produced infectious pop music circus.
if i compare it to donna herself, this album is by far not her best. as the years go by you watch donna come not only into her own, but then explode and surpass even that into where she is today. incredible. flawless. i'm happy to say that i am now a donna-head =)
1. "THINK IT OVER"
13 years later when i finally caved and bought the album a 2nd time from Amazon, coz somewhere over the years i had lost my original... this song was STILL in my head.
the song is super fun. donna sounds like a bad ass, she's tough. her voice goes from angelic to growling. i think this was her first released single?
the vocal hooks are everywhere on this song, like little things that you find on a journey on this one, and it leaves you wanting more.
"SHINY RED WORLD"
i want to dislike this song so much - but trust me, if you give in to it just one time, you're ruined. a cute reflection of the times, back in 1992.Read more ›
Aside from the gorgeous photos of Donna, the songs are great pop tunes, most of which were written by Donna herself! THough out-of-print, there are still copies floating around in the cyber universe so catch it if you can! She is a tremendous talent and continues to record today.
The CD opens with "Think It Over," a great song that will get your toes tapping while you listen only to get you breaking out in dancing throughout the CD. "Praying For Love" is a great song that become a Top 10 Dance hit for Donna. "It's My House" is a funky, No Doubt-sounding song before No Doubt even hit the scene!
"Just a Dream" was written by Madonna and she also lends her background vocals to the song. Both their voices blend really well and was also a big hit for Donna when it was released. "World With No Shame" is a fntastic song about social awareness.
All the songs on this CD are quite enjoyable. I, myself, have been listening to this CD ever since it was released and continue to go to it in my leisure listening time. I highly recommend this CD with 5 stars to any and all pop music lovers.

The only good song on this album is it's first (and only?) single, "Just A Dream". Written by Madonna and Patrick Leonard, Madonna sings backing vocals on this track. Read morePublished on October 10, 2007 by Court Clark
