Product description
Product Description
The Wah Cry delivers both an excellent Wah response along with Volume function and all in a small footprint. Very small footprint and much shorter than a standard Wah pedal or Volume pedal. Switch on the side for either Wah or Volume. Rock on the ball of your foot and you can get comfortable pretty quick. In WAH mode, the response is based on the original Crybaby response. What you need to do is just press it, and feel the vocal sweep and lush harmonics from the wah's classic era. In VOL mode, Donner designed a special active circuit that ensures keeping every detail of your sound. Plus, we added an additional volume range control for VOL mode. As a volume pedal, the Wah Cry could satisfy every strict demand of every guitarists. 1. The pedal is negative center, so please make sure that the power supply is correct 2.The foot pedal is hard to push, in order to avoid operation error, as in wah mode the user needs to step on the pedal up and down, if the foot switch is too loose the pedal will be off easy and the effect will not go on. 3. When power on and there is no effect please check the wah/vol switch. Only when the switch is on wah mode the wah effect can work.

After just 1 weekend of usage (less than 3 hours of playing) the wah effect started crackling. As other reviews have noted, the wah effect seems to deteriorate rather quickly, and mine certainly wasn't any exception.
Overall I am not satisfied with this product and would not recommend to a friend.
I'm giving it 2 stars because the volume mode didn't negatively effect my tone and its a good size.
Poor build: it makes a scratching noise when moving the pedal, but only when sound is going thru it. I tried pushing it up and down a bunch of times, thinking it had dust in the pot or something, but it was completely silent when no chord was being played. Only made that scratchy sound during performance, which was maddening because it would happen and people would wonder where the noise was coming from, but I couldn't troubleshoot it.
Wish I'd spend the extra $$ and bought a Dunlop. Which is what I'm doing next...
the $65 lesson here: you get what you pay for...
In terms of context, I have two rigs - one for the home studio and one for gigs. My home rig is surging and needed a wah , but size and cost were a factor in terms of pedal board placement. It's only slightly bigger than a BOSS pedal, which struck me as ideal. While I don't feel it had the sweep you might expect from a Morley or Dunlap cry baby, it does the trick. I mean really? What do you need? I really dug the tones it was a able to get over the range the pedal moved and it accentuated the harmonic tones of my guitar as well. It really sounds nice.
The pedal doubles as a volume pedal as well, but caution to shoppers - it's one or the other, not both. A switch on the side of the unit changes the pedal preference. There's a dial on the other side of the pedal which appears to control how much 'volume' is cut when the pedal is pressed back. It took some tone questing to see how everything worked as there's no instructions, but all in all, what you see is what you get - a micro-sized wah/volume with capable tonal effects, a great look and ease of operation. Very happy with it - GEAR RULES!
If you need a volume pedal, this is small and works very well. It doesn't take up a lot of space on your board and doesn't mess with your tone. Not a ton of sweep, but that's how I like it. This is exactly what I wanted in a volume pedal.
I don't use a lot of Wah, so I don't have a dedicated Wah on my board anymore. However, I still like to use it 2 or 3 times a gig, so I just needed something that gave me some Wah, but didn't take a lot of space like my other Wah pedals. This does that perfectly. Smooth sounding and mixes well with my tone without being crazy. lol.
The only downside to this pedal, is the switch that moves you from Volume to Wah. It is on the side of the pedal, very small, and hard to see and switch over. Half the time I reach for it, I forget where it's located and half to bend down and search again. lol. Kind of pain. But, since I don't use Wah much, it's a small issue for me. Those that switch from Volume to Wah frequently, it could definetly be a bigger problem.
Suggestion here. The default on this should be volume...and then you just use the footswitch to kick it over to Wah. I use a multi-effect pedal at church (Boss Me-80) that does this and it works out really well. It would bypass that stupid itty bitty switch on the side all together. It would be 5 stars if they did that, imho ;)
Anyway, it seems well built and looks like it will hold up. We shall see. In my opinion, this is well worth the money and really a bargain at this price.
