Editorial Reviews

2013 album from the Trinidad/American rapper discovered through various YouTube postings. The 'All Gold Everything' rapper has been in high demand since dropping his Don't Be S.A.F.E mixtape. Not only receiving recognition from fans and critics alike for his New Atlanta sound, many have taken to James' unique trendsetting style. At just 25 years old, James has formed an impressive following with his Gold Gang movement, catching the attention of music heavyweights such as Andre 3000, Diddy, Rihanna, Rick Ross and ultimately, Def Jam Recordings.

Trinidad James blew up out of nowhere. His hit single "all Gold everything"gets major radio and video play. The first time I seen that video I was like what in the world is he wearing, it did look like something Jerome from Martin would of wore so I understand the similarities people made about them. The crazy thing about that is if you look at Trinidad James he does look like a parody rapper. In his interviews he said that he was only rapping for 10 months. There was some backlash over that comment he made. He also landed a 2 million dollar contract with Def Jam and they quickly re-released his free mixtape "Don't Be Safe" for retail. His mixtape currently has over 100,000 downloads on Datpiff. Def Jam sure didn't waste any time remastering it and putting it in stores.

So after listening to the mixtape, the only tracks I was feeling were "All Gold Everything, obviously. "Females Welcomed" is another dope track, the hook is hilarious, not to mention its catchy! My favorite has to be "One More Molly", the heavy bass makes this track sound even better."No F**** Given" is another standout. The rest of those songs were automatic skip worthy to me. Will the lyrics blow you away on this mixtape? No, but that's not type of music he makes. He gets outshined by his production at times and some of the hooks are atrocious. It remains to be seen how long Trinidad James will be around but the time being, his tracks will dominate radio. Outside of the songs I mentioned, I cant even see myself listening to this again, and I'm not hating, I gave this mixtape a fair chance but lets be honest here, Trinidad James doesn't bring anything new to the table. This is type of sound that's popular right now, so you cant really blame him for following a trend. The radio wont play any other type of music anyway.

Good album, ease of download always has me coming back to find my favorites. One suggestion, we should have the ability to share music between our individual apple and android devices. That would be great.

I like this guy and his swag. He has some catchy word play but needs to co-lab with other artist to improve his craft. However for 5 bucks I like that Girls welcome, Southside, & all Gold remix! I may be baised I'm from Atlanta

I love it! It's just that simple. The beats are great, the hooks entice you into the song. The lyrics, while subpar, are catchy and easy to remember. It was a great way for Trinidad to introduce himself into the rap game. Way to go, bud!

This guy sings like he was raised in the ghetto but truth be told he grew up in a middle class white suburb. Talk about aspiring to be something better..hilarious. The best part is that he believes his own s***.

Trinidad James' flow on this record is really progressive and definitely worth checking out. At first glance, there might not seem to be much to Trinidad but his straightforward lyricism, ironic grandeur, killer beats and heartfelt material make this record bang.

One Puff: God's Gift
If You Like this Album you will like One Puff: God's Gift by Trev Eyez
It was just a matter of time before the hip hop world discovered Reggae and West Indian culture, just like it has assimilated Spanish and Latino, especially with regards to verbal slang. Particularly, the dancehall reggae world must look exotic, rough and menacing to the uninitiated - a perfect candidate for hip hop to squeeze into it's mold
Trev's (a man with a REAL Caribbean background) came to set the record straight, and show that mixing hip hop with Reggae/Dancehall is perfect and he does the two without loosing the essence of neither.
