About the Author

Serena J. Dyer is the sixth of Wayne and Marcelene Dyer’s eight children. Serena attended the University of Miami, where she received bachelor’s and master’s degrees, and now lives in South Florida with her fiancé. She spends her time traveling, reading, blogging, cooking, and working to combat child trafficking through several local organizations.

Affectionately called the “father of motivation” by his fans, Dr. Wayne W. Dyer was an internationally renowned author, speaker, and pioneer in the field of self-development. Over the four decades of his career, he wrote more than 40 books (21 of which became New York Times bestsellers), created numerous audio programs and videos, and appeared on thousands of television and radio shows. His books Manifest Your Destiny, Wisdom of the Ages, There’s a Spiritual Solution to Every Problem, and the New York Times bestsellers 10 Secrets for Success and Inner Peace, The Power of Intention, Inspiration, Change Your Thoughts—Change Your Life, Excuses Begone!, Wishes Fulfilled, and I Can See Clearly Now were all featured as National Public Television specials.

Wayne held a doctorate in educational counseling from Wayne State University, had been an associate professor at St. John’s University in New York, and honored a lifetime commitment to learning and finding the Higher Self. In 2015, he left his body, returning to Infinite Source to embark on his next adventure.

I'm actually addressing this directly to the author, Serena Dyer. Serena, I read a sample e-book chapter of DON'T DIE WITH YOUR MUSIC STILL IN YOU, and liked it enough to want to read the whole book.

I haven't finished your book yet, but I am intrigued with: (1) the negative "troll" reviews here on Amazon.com; (2) your response to the first one; and (3) your public Facebook post about the first one (and the nearly 150 positive suggestions that followed.)

I want to offer this: these reviews, both negative and positive, are a great opportunity to practice holding your ego like a beloved pet, and laughing at it, as it's trying to run the show.

You had the courage to put your gift on the table, and now you get to practice remaining detached from outcomes.

Good luck and keep writing!

I just received this book and I have already read it twice. I have friends and family members asking me everyday how fast they can get it themselves, after I told them the impact it had on me. Not only do you hear Wayne Dyer's messages and advice but then Serena's lets you into her own person life and tells all how she applies them to her own life, and problems many of us all face. This to me was the most impactful and beautiful aspect of the book. It is not easy to put your own life out there first of all, and admit your own struggles, but to then teach the world how you dealt with them and overcame them is a whole other ballgame. It is such a raw and honest book that you can actually feel what she feels and then feel hope and at ease after she teaches how she has used spirituality to over come all and everything. I recommend this book to anyone looking to enjoy life just a little more and learn how to live with an open mind and heart, which in turn will be a more peaceful life. 5 STARS FOR SURE!!!!!

In 2001, Wayne Dyer wrote 10 Secrets for Success and Inner Peace - a book outlining ten spiritual principles for people interested in examining their life and discovering what was important to them while living life and making choices. Fast forward to this month with Serena Dyer and her dad, Wayne Dyer, co-creating a book based on the same 10 ‘secrets’ relative to how Serena’s parents raised her and her seven siblings.

Don’t Die with Your Music Still In You is a wonderful book about spirituality, living with awareness, being authentic and seeking inner peace by noticing our responses in the ten areas outlined in the book. Throughout the book Serena includes meaningful quotes, like her Dad does in his books. I have always enjoyed how Wayne weaves beautiful quotes into passages in his books and it was wonderful to see Serena take that same approach.

I recommend this book to people of all ages who are: exploring life with meaning, curious about how to be aware of their role in relationships, want to live with purpose, and are interested in discovering what feeds their soul.

Being able to be true to yourself in your writing and have the ability to relate to your audience is a special talent Serena dyer portrays in her book. It's her journey and her transition from an indesivive girl trying to figure out how to be comfortable being herself and trying to understand the world around her into a confident woman who realized that you can't solve a problem with the mind that created the problem. I enjoyed this book and hope you do too.

This is Serena Dyer's first book, but I am certain that it will not be her last. It is clear that the "Apple doesn't fall far from the tree"! Awesome and inspiring! I was very touched by all the stories Serena shared, especially Dana's & Lauren's! For those of us who have been fans of her father, Dr. Wayne Dyer for years, this book gives an insight into growing up with such amazing and spiritually evolved parents! Loved how down-to-earth, open, & honest both Serena and her father conveyed their wisdom! Now click and get your own copy!

This book is an okay book.I do wonder if this is an excuse for Wayne Dyer to write more and it also comes across as a book that needs Daddy's approval. No offense on Serena Dyer she seems like a nice person, but do you really need at the end of every single chapter your dad's input on things that you write.I don't think so.I think that she can write a book without Wayne's comments and I hope she does just that in the future. While reading it I thought to myself I wish I could have grown up with spiritual-based parents it would have differently helped with my lack of self-esteem when I was younger.I would have had a higher self-esteem. I have still learned from my parents even though they weren't spiritual-based and love them alot.I am glad she focused on her parents and not just her dad.I think if her dad was going to put lots of his imput in the book they should have included her mom's as well.Hopefully she will write a book with more of mom's imput. All in all it was a great biography. She did a wonderful job of summarizing the way she grow up and mentioning the lessons she learned from her parents as well.

All the 'secrets' of life are thousands of years old & yet as each writer retells them in their own words, we have a chance to experience the path(s) to the mountain top from a new & different perspective & thus learn & grow if we so choose.

Spiritual fitness is like physical fitness; you can walk out the gym door fit & buffed but entropy & life sets in and if you want to maintain it, you need to go back regularly! So even tho 'Don't Die with Your Music Still in You' is perhaps not the deepest spiritual book ever written in the history of the human race, there is still much to be gained in the reading.

Also, i think the book would speak VERY powerfully to a younger reader who could relate strongly to the perspective of a younger author & might be turned off by denser prose.

Suffice to say, i enjoyed it, found many helpful reminders therein.
