She had so many warnings and thankfully she never allowed him to put their engagement out to the world! So the final straw was when she caught him and his boss in the office! She's out enjoying her morning run when Nick steps out of the trees. Nick, the same Nick Strong she's had a crush on since middle school. What she doesn't know is the feeling is mutual! Only neither one will admit it! He asks her for some advice on how to market the resort and puts his phone number in her phone. The next day she is helping her sister Chelsea at the ice cream shop her parents own, when a really obnoxious woman comes in and starts asking all kinds of questions about the ice cream. Then Nick shows up with his two nephews and neice and the fake blonde makes a beeline for him and almost pushes his neice out of his arms. Thankfully he isn't interested and she leaves in a huff and slams the door. After getting all three kids ice cream and himself a shake her sister talks her into going to the park with them. 👍 What happens next? My Book A Day

This book has not only romance, but danger as well, it's great!

I’m always looking for a great new book to read. And Cami Checketts writes great book. I love the way I was immersed in this one from the very beginning. It really just sucked me in and made me not want to put it down until the very end.

This book is about Mary and Nick. It’s actually number 6 in the series, I haven’t read any of the others, but I had no problem reading this one. I love it when there are series like this where you can get to know all of the family and read a story about each one.

Mary has come home to her little town. She literally runs into Nick, her best friend from high school. I loved the way the reader knew that both Mary and Nick had fallen for each other in high school, but never told the other. This makes them both a little unsure of the other. And that awkwardness was cute between the two of them.

Nick is a great guy. I loved the way he looked after Mary when she needs someone. He really was her knight in shining armor. And he was such a gentleman.

I loved that this book has not only romance, but also danger as well. It’s a great read!

A sweet best friends romance

This is a sweet novella with a side of light danger about best friends who’ve always wanted more. Mary recently broke up with her cheating fiancée and moved back home to start fresh. She is struggling with her decision to date her ex and her resulting skittishness. Nick is a Army ranger who was recently discharged due to an injury where his teammates died. He is struggling with PTSD and survivors guilt. Mary and Nick were friends in HS and despite both of them having feelings for each other, neither one acted on them. Now that they’ve reconnected, they are both struggling to change their relationship to more than friends. While short, the story was well written, the characters had some depth, and despite some OTT dialogue and plot points, the story was engaging.

Sweet yet suspenseful

Reading a Cami Checketts romantic suspense is like soaking in a steaming hot bubble bath with a cup of melted chocolate. Even though the suspense has me on the edge of my seat, there's something so enveloping about the stories and characters.

Nick is looking for peace after being in the Army, but apparently that's too much to ask when he runs into Mary, a girl from his past, and her crazy ex. I loved these characters and their romantic tension while under pressure, and would have loved to delve even deeper into their feelings and relationship, especially from the past, because I just couldn't get enough.

My favorite part was Nick talking through the door with Mary's sister eavesdropping. Such a sweet, yet fully embarrassing, moment. I really enjoyed these sweet tender moments that were mixed in with the fast paced action.

I haven't read all of these and did just fine--they can stand alone--but I'm definitely going to go back and catch up. Great series about a great family!

I don’t want this series to end!

This is Nick and Mary’s story. Nick is a former Army Ranger, having been honorably discharged a lot sooner than he had expected to leave the military. Mary turned a part time online venture into a thriving business and was able to leave her stressful marketing job behind.

Mary had come home to Colorado to regroup from a painful break up with her boyfriend. Nick was home in Colorado trying to figure out the next act in life. They had known each other since middle school and had played friend zone until HS graduation. Seven years later they met up again and it seemed that they were doomed for the Forever Friend Zone. Neither of them wanted it, they each wanted the other. But the obstacles thrown in there way seemed impossible to overcome.

This was another awesome Strong family story. Nick is absolutely irresistible and boy do I love a scarred military man in need of help to heal. Mary was that woman and I loved how she overcame her wariness to point blank tell Nick what she wanted. I highly recommend this book!
