The characters were interesting, the story was compelling, but I had to stop long before the end because I couldn't take the stupid mistakes that ANY decent editor or beta reader would've caught. I finally stopped reading when I got to a part in the book where the author had apparently decided to cut something she'd previously written, but began cutting in the middle of a sentence, leaving behind only the first three or four words of the sentence. Really...this is ridiculous!
It's really aggravating, and THIS is why self-pushished works get a bad name. It's also the reason I seldom purchase a book when I know it's self published, and that's really not fair because there are a lot of really great self-published authors out there. But THIS is frustrating. If you don't care enough to do your best to fix errors before racing it to the public, then put it up for free.
Do I sound irritated? Well...it's because I am. And what's more irritating is that I would probably really like this book if only I could get past the egregious typos of dropped sentences, misspelled words, duplicate words, etc. But I can't. I expect a few errors in any book...errors happen and nobody is perfect. But I've read pre-release ARCs with fewer errors. In facT, MOST pre-release ARCs have fewer errors in their entire books than I found in the first 10 pages of this one. I'm not sure I've ever read a book with so many errors that would've been caught with a line editor. And if the author had one, that person should be fired. And if the author went through a publisher, then writers beware.
Okay. I'm done ranting. I think I'm mostly angry because I'd like to know how the book ends but I'm too frustrated with the blatant errors to continue reading. I won't read more by this author.
I love this book! I read it in one sitting. The only thing that would have made it better is if there was an epilogue at the end. The story just kind of ends abruptly and it would be nice to have some insight to what happened in their future.
I received an ARC copy for an honest review.
First your boyfriend breakup with you while you are packing your bags to the vacation trip you both plan. Then the plane is overbook, your luggage is missing, your ex took your room and there is no other available. A great way to start your vacation right? Well let me tell you that it is, because of that you went to a run down motel, Dune Scape, that is own by you brother best friend and your crush! But the second night of her been in his motel they can't stop their passion and need to consume each other, only for one night.
