As far as the rest of the book, the plot was somewhat unbelievable especially at the end when all the loose pieces come together. For the most part the characters weren't well developed ....even their physical descriptions were minimal. So the reader isn't very emotionally invested. That leaves the plot which reads like a made for tv horror movie. The entire plot revolves around a female doctor who appears to have been abducted and strapped down in an operating room by a psychotic person threatening to do her physical harm. Later on she's found lying on the hosp grounds, shaken up but not physically injured.
No one believes her story and she's quickly labeled as mentally unstable having imagined/ dreamed the whole event. As the plot continues on as she is alienated by her husband, colleagues and friends. In addition, her behavior is erratic and she has a history of psych problems due to a traumatic event n her past.
And there you have it. The twist at the end seems contrived and falls flat. But the author does manage to keep you guessing throughout the entire book whether it really happened or was all imagined.
In my opinion that was the only redeemable aspect of this book.
Would not highly reccomend
This thriller weaves a nightmarish plot we have all experienced in every nightmare we have all had. No matter what we say or do we cant make it right and we only look more guilty. Every paragraph add to clues to her guilt and this reader even concluded our main character must be mentally I'll. Bravo Liz Lawler on a plot that spins around like a tiltawhirl.
