This transfer pack book is much more practical and time-saving as it allows you to just cut the images out and iron them directly onto your fabric. They can be used multiple times and there is a nice big pocket in the back for storing the cut-outs once they have been used. I have been using this book for about six months now and coudn't be happier with it.
Many of the transfers I have used in excess of five times now, and they are still going strong. The designs are nice and big and there are certainly plenty to choose from. This is one of my favorite books to use for embroidering flour sack towels as gifts. With so many different categories of designs I am able to find something that suits just about everyone. If you have any questions leave them in the comments and I will get back to you.
My only gripe with the books is that it can be difficult to find a pattern that you may be looking for. Yes, the book is organized by "Nature" and "Celebration" and other sections, but there are no page numbers on the transfer pages and no image index to reference which transfers may be found under which heading. The transfers have to have a blank sheet of paper adjacent as to not bleed onto the other transfer sheets, so it's a little difficult to peruse.
I first discovered embroidery last year and I love it for the creativity, therapic and and minimal investment. I can stitch while watching tv, my son and on my free time. Finish results are beautiful and you dont need to know a lot of stitches to make sometime beautiful.
I ended up buying preprinted embroidery kits on Etsy which ended up costing lots of $$$. I will still buy some because I love supporting small businesses but in the meantime to maintain my stitching addiction, this book is awesome. There are a ton of beautiful simple designs to stitch. You just buy some linen or Aida cloth fabric, embroidery floss, a hoop and you're ready to go! You cut out and iron the pattern to your fabric and it imprints a visible pattern for you to stitch. I predict this book will give me endless amounts of entertainment for a very small investment! I highly recommend. There is also a stitch guide in this book but I recommend you tubing how to do stitches.
