Jason P. Crawford was born in Louisiana in 1981. His writing career began in 2012, when he sat down for some “writing time” with his wife and sister-in-law. He has always been fascinated by the magic in the real world, leading him to focus most of his efforts on urban fantasy and science fiction. A winner of two Silver Medals in the Global Ebook Awards and several short story acknowledgements, including three Silver Honorable Mentions, he continues to push his own writing boundaries and learn new techniques.

In addition to the Samuel Buckland Chronicles, Jason has completed The Drifter, a story about gods walking in the world of men, and Dragon Princess, following the young High Princess Amalia Therald as she prepares to take her place as ruler of Aetheria despite her blindness. His life as a husband, father, and teacher (as well as hardcore gamer) have opened up and nurtured a wealth of imagination and given Jason a tendency to flights of fancy, and those flights give rise to his work.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Story of a Lifetime
Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on September 8, 2022
Oh, my goodness. What a ride this story is. As someone who's been a long-term fan of the series, since the release of the first book, I can say with confidence that this is my favorite entry of the Samuel Buckland Chronicles thus far.

Throughout the journey Mr. Crawford took me on in the pages of this book, I came to love characters that I never thought I would and found myself disappointed with characters that I never thought would let me down. Combined with the intense world-building and much grander scope of this story in comparison to its predecessors, that kind of multi-faceted character development pulled on my heart strings.

The last two chapters, in particular, are scenes that played out so vividly and impactfully in my head that I won't forget them for the rest of my life.

Closing the cover after finally finishing the story felt like stepping off of a roller coaster. It left me feeling exhilarated and wanting more immediately. Needless to say, I will waste no time in acquiring the sequel to this one, Key to Destiny.
