About the Author

Geoff Johns is an award-winning writer and one of the most popular contemporary comic book writers today. Johns is the author of the New York Times best-selling graphic novels Aquaman: The Trench, Blackest Night, Green Lantern: The Sinestro Corps War, Justice League: Origin, Superman: Brainiac and Batman: Earth One, which hit #1 on the bestseller list. He is also known for transforming Green Lantern into one of the most critically and commercially successful franchises in comics.

Johns was born in Detroit and studied media arts, screenwriting and film at Michigan State University. After moving to Los Angeles, he became an assistant to Richard Donner, director of Superman: The Movie. He and his mentor Donner later co-wrote Superman: Last Son featuring the return of General Zod.

Johns has written for various other media, including episodes of Smallville, Arrow and Adult Swim's Robot Chicken, for which he was nominated along with his co-writers for an Emmy. Johns was an executive producer on the 2016 film Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and co-wrote the 2017 hit film Justice League as well as the upcoming Wonder Woman 1984 film starring Gal Gadot. Johns currently resides in Los Angeles, California.

Geoff Johns is an award-winning and New York Times bestselling writer, film and television producer, showrunner, and entrepreneur known for re-imagining superheroes and other iconic mythologies, past and present. Johns is best known for his work on properties such as Green Lantern, Aquaman, The Flash, Superman, Batman, Justice Society of America, and most recently, the creator-owned hit series Geiger, currently being adapted for television at Paramount.

The End Of A Masterpiece

The product arrived in perfect condition. The Doomsday Clock series just might be my favorite graphic novel series. It follows the adventures of characters form The Watchmen Universe as they teleport to the Justice League/DC Universe. I can't say much without spoiling anything, but Doomsday Clock part 2 ends the enthralling story of the battle of the gods between Dr. Manhattan and Superman. It is awesome for any Justice League and Watchmen fan. Before reading this I read Before Watchmen ominbus, The Watchmen deluxe edtion, Batman/ The Flash: The Button Deluxe Edtion, DC Universe : Rebirth Deluxe Edition, and Doomsday Clock part 1 as well as watched The Watchmen Movie, The Curse Of The Black Freighter and extras form the movie. You don't have to watch and read everything I did, but I would recommend it if you are unfamiliar with The Wathcmen Universe and/or The Falsh Point parodox. I did because I have already have a strong knowledge for the DC Universe, but not for the Watchmen Universe and wanted to catch all references. And instead of reading the deluxe editions of both the Batman/ The Flash: The Button and DC Universe: Rebirth, you can read through the DC Universe: Rebirth Omnibus if you want a small brush up on the DC Universe Characters. This contains the last 6 issues of the Doomsday Clock plus some extras. The mailing process was and the graphic novel is amazing.

Not only did Johns story add to the DC universe, he re-wrote all of the DC character stories along with it.
This is a MUST for all comic collectors. Story, art and pacing, moving this story and Gary Franks artwork make a fantastic story.

I really love this series. Both the illustrations and plot are excellent. The art done by Gary Frank is beautiful and intricate, especially on the splash pages near the end. I feel the plot, overall, is a good conclusion to both the original Watchmen and DCUs new 52 and Rebirth lines. The first half, Doomsday Clock vol. 1, may have been a little slow, but vol. 2 more than makes up for it. Overall, I think the ending was both awesome and heartwarming, including what happens to Johnny Thunder.

Yes its very cool seeing the DC characters mix and be in the same universe as Watchmen. But to me NOTHING, will ever beat the original Watchmen, not Doomsday clock part 1, that was very good too. I thought part 1 was better and then I feel like part 2 just took a left turn from where I thought it was going and I feel like it became a Dr. Manhattan, superman story. Very good, love the art and the again all the characters. And just my opinion but Watchmen to me is the greatest of all graphic novels/trades whatever you wanna call them, Watchmen is what got me into comics and taught me that they can be great stories and aren't just people in costumes or superheroes and made me care more then any other book, comic or otherwise, about story arc and characters and what people are willing to do and can do when scared, in power, have power, have nothing ect. It holds a special place in my heart so maybe I'm being biased but this was very good and I would recommend reading it but definitely read the original Watchmen before you start any of the other stories they've done
