This doorbell is super easy to install. It took all of 10 minutes, from the time I opened the box to finished. You won't need any tools for most applications. I actually bought this doorbell for my teenage daughter's room. She has a hard time stopping what she's doing. She's an artist, so she can often be elbow deep in paint or fabric or who knows what. When I've needed to speak with her, we end up yelling through the door and not hearing each other very well. She's a good, well mannered kid, so don't go off on a tangent about that. As a parent, I knock on her door. She replys "what", "hold on", " be right there" and the like. I gave her the doorbell. When I ring it, she knows I need her for something now, that won't wait. It's her signal to stop what she's doing and come out to talk with me. It's also SUPER HELPFUL as a wake-up call, when you can't drag a kid outta bed. How many parents reading this review could really use something like this to get your kid's attention in the morning, instead of running up and down stairs, running from one room to another or yelling like a crazy person. Parents I know you don't like to stand outside or inside your kid's room trying to drag them outta bed... because ya know, it's not like we're ever busy.🤣 This will fix the problem. Plug the bell in their room, and put the button where you'll need it most. If your kid says they'll just unplug it (mine has not), just tell them for each time they unplug it, you get their favorite item (phone, computer, video game system, TV) for a week as punishment. This little boorbell has the ability to make your life a little easier. Enjoy! The pick is of the button in the hall outside my kid's room.

My only complaint is that it is advertised to be able to receive at a distance of 1000 feet in an open space and up to 500 feet (152.4 metres). This was definitely not the case for me. The distance between my button outside of the house and the receiver in the house is probably about 5 metres. Any further and it will not ring if the button is pressed. I don't know if it's because of the stone facing on the outside of my house and the wall but I was expecting it to be better than that.
I am very glad I only got the one button and one receiver. I strongly suspect that if I got the one button and two receivers, it would have been a waste of money. I would have needed to place both receivers fairly close to the button, which would have defeated the purpose of buying two so I could place them at each end of the house.
I'm still able to use the power plug unoccupied by the receiver unit but only if the plug for the device I'm using isn't too bulky.
